Scott Broadbent Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 16, 2024.
Scott A. Broadbent, Sr., 84, of Richmond Virginia passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024. He was surrounded by his family and embraced by their love in the weeks leading up to his death. He is survived by his wife Terry and their children Jessica Delk (Campbell), and Justin Broadbent. He is also survived by his former wife Sally Matthews and their children Tim (Lisa), Chris (Allison), Scott (Alisa) and Melissa Alecce (Gian), his brother Street, thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandson as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in death by his father, Walter Scott Broadbent and mother, Naomi Broadbent.

Scott was born and raised in Reisterstown, MD and graduated from Franklin Senior High School in 1957. Not wanting to attend college, he joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 24, where he was a proud member for over 60 years. Being the General Foreman on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge second span was one of the highlight projects of his career and the success of that project propelled him into management. In addition to running many large electrical contracting companies, he was also an astute entrepreneur and investor.

Scott's hobbies included enjoying life by the water, reading, attending the sporting activities of his children and grandchildren, and simply spending time with family. A funeral service will be held at St. Jame's Episcopal Church in Richmond VA on Saturday, May 4th 2024 at 11:00 AM.
