Scott Furbush Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from May 14 to May 21, 2023.
It is with a heavy heart and a chuckle that we announce the passing of Scott Patrick Furbush, a man who lived life to the fullest and could make anyone laugh. Scott was born in Stuttgart, Germany, but he made his home in New Jersey with his family when he was just a wee lad of two. He graduated from Bentley College, but not before he spent some time slinging drinks as a bartender.

Scott's sense of humor was legendary, and he was known for his ability to make anyone laugh. He was a devoted father to his two sons, Jeff and Alex Furbush, from his first marriage to Jackie Sasso. He met Elizabeth in 2011, and they shared a love story that was straight out of a fairytale. They were a perfect match, even down to the cellular level, as Elizabeth donated her kidney to Scott two weeks before starting dialysis from Polycystic Kidney Disease. Their bond was unbreakable.

Scott was a project manager at Siemens Corporation for over ten years, but his true passion was working on projects inside and outside the home. He loved to tinker and create, and his koi pond built with his wife and son Alex is a masterpiece.

Scott fought a valiant battle with cancer, which began in October of 2021. When doctors gave him only days to live in late March, he returned home, where he spent several weeks surrounded by loved ones. Scott kept his sense of humor right up until the end and his home was filled with laughter, love, and plenty of hugs.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Furbush. He is survived by his mother Joan Furbush, mother-in-law Joan Briggs, his wife Elizabeth Furbush, his two sons, Jeff and his wife Hanna Furbush, Alex Furbush and his partner Amy Entel, his step-daughter Courtney and her husband Danny Caudle and his brother Brian Furbush and his partner Heather Braun, and their children, Adam, Olivia, Amelia, and Caleb. He also leaves behind cherished cousins, friends, and a legacy of laughter and joy.

Scott's family chose to celebrate his life, while still alive, with a small gathering at the Sky Meadow Country Club on April 20th. Let's all raise a glass to Scott's life, and in lieu of flowers and donations, let's all share a pun or a funny memory of Scott on Legacy.com. Scott would want us to laugh and remember the good times. Rest in pun, Scott.

It was a pleasure and honor to know Scott. I will always remember laughing with him, talking to him about his boys and how much he loved to tinker with things. Joan used to tell me he would call her everyday on his way to work and she loved all those calls (she would tell me often). I am very sad to hear this news and I am sure Lee was waiting for him with a Brandy or something in hand. All my sympathy to Scott's family.

To Scott's wife, sons and family - our deepest condolences. I worked with Scott here at Siemens for many years and he made everyone's world brighter and more fun... even during challenging times. A no-nonsense and let's get it done (even the absurd) kind of colleague. I will miss his great attitude and clear understanding of things - finding a solution with a kind heart. He will be greatly missed for all of us in the organization and particularly among his IT work family. Our thoughts and warmest prayers for his loved ones at home we were blessed to have his light here at work with us.

My thoughts are with you. I hope is is joking in the sky and making my dad laugh because he has the same sense of humor. My heart is with you all at this time.
