Scott Austen Hajdu, 48, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025. Scott was born in Dallas, Texas on February 18, 1977, and is the son of Penelope "Penny" (Seim) and Dezsee "Desi" Hajdu. Scott grew up in Dallas, Texas, where he attended Bowie Elementary, Westwood Jr. High School and J.J. Pearce High School, where he excelled as a junior golfer. He participated in numerous tournaments across the region on the AJGA circuit and in school tournaments. He attended Arizona State University as well as Tyler Junior College on a golf scholarship.

While at TJC the golf team won back to back NJCAA Division II Championships in 1997 and 1998. After that he attended Nicholls State University on a golf scholarship, where he received a B.S. in Marketing.

Scott's entire career was spent in the golf industry, beginning with his playing career as a junior and collegiate golfer, while working in the summers as a cart attendant at his home course, Canyon Creek Country Club. After college, he began his professional career as Assistant Golf Professional at Canyon Creek, eventually rising to the rank of 1st Assistant Golf Professional. In 2005, Scott left Canyon Creek to become Head Golf Professional at Timarron Country Club, where he served until 2009, when he moved to become Director of Golf at Brookhaven Country Club. At Brookhaven, he also served as Regional Director of Golf for Club Corp. In 2013, he returned to Canyon Creek to assume the role as General Manager until 2015, when he returned to serve as General Manager at Brookhaven and Regional General Manager of Club Corp. In 2020, he became General Manager of the Clubs of Prestonwood, where he served until his death. Scott enjoyed a 31-year career as a lifer for CCA/Club Corp/Invited.

Scott took enormous pride in his career and enjoyed close and lasting relationships with his many co-workers and employees. As the leader of the junior golf program at Canyon Creek, he impacted the lives and playing careers of scores of young golfers. He had an uncanny ability to come up with nicknames for junior golfers and members alike, many of which have stuck with them to this day.

Scott became a father in 2006 with the birth of his son, Austen, and again in 2009 with the birth of his daughter, Addison. He had boundless pride and love for his two kids, and they were the center of his universe. Scott always enjoyed attending Austen's basketball games and Addie's dance recitals over the years. He loved taking them up to his work so they could enjoy playing golf or pickle ball together or celebrating special holidays like Easter or the Fourth of July together. Austen is a student at Texas A&M University pursuing a degree in engineering and Addie enjoys her passion for dance participating on the drill team and the dance company at her high school.

Scott followed in his father's footsteps as a "cheesehead" and lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers, and he rarely missed attending a game when the Packers were in town to play the Cowboys.

Scott gave in death as he gave in life, as he was an organ, and tissue donor. Honoring his generous wish, the gift of life was given to several others with his donation.

Scott is preceded in death by both of his parents and his maternal grandparents, Edward and Sara Seim, and his paternal grandparents, Gyorgy and Ilona Hajdu. He is survived by his former spouse, Amy Robertson Hajdu and their son, Austen of Carrollton and their daughter, Addison of Carrollton; his brother, Mark Hajdu and sister-in-law Jennifer Hajdu of Dallas; his brother, Chris Hajdu and sister-in-law Amy Hajdu of Austin; his nieces Claire Hajdu, Kate Hajdu, and Ava Hajdu and nephew Jack Hajdu. Scott was a beloved son, father, brother, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held for Scott at The Clubs of Prestonwood - The Creek on May 18th at 2:00. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Austen and Addison Hajdu Scholarship Fund at Pavillion Bank, 1200 W Campbell Rd., Richardson, TX 75080.

Scott and I played high school golf together. I looked up to him being a year older than me...and scoring better than me too! I wish I saw this in time for the memorial. Condolences to his kids and family and friends!

So sad to hear this news! Scott lived a block away from me when we were growing up, and was always kind to me. Sending my sympathies to his family.

So sorry to hear about this. Scott was a good friend in elementary, junior high, and high school. He was always joyous, joking, and laughing. I loved playing soccer on the same team with him at recess on the Bowie fields. I loved it when his mom, Penny, would come eat lunch with us at school. She always made us laugh hysterically. God bless the Hajdu family. Scott you were a good friend! Love,

I am so sorry to hear this. Scott and I were friends back at Bowie Elementary and both grew up on Pencross Lane. I actually reached out to him a few weeks ago to try to catch up. This is devastating news. May his memory always be a blessing to his family and friends.

Scott was my younger brother. It pains me that I had to lose him at such a young age.

We had great times together as brothers. I will always have the fondest memories of our time spent together both as kids, and then later in life as parents ourselves.

Gone way too soon.

Just gutted...

My best memory of you was our hours of practice "interviews" when you wanted to have a go at the Timarron Head Pro job.

Via con Dios, amigo.

Scott,
You left us way too soon. I look back and fondly recall the day I offered you the role of Head Golf Professional at Timarron Country Club - THE best decision I´ve ever made in my career. Your leadership, confidence, sense of humor, keen instincts, and calm disposition inspired us all to perform at exceptionally high levels. You also made us look so good.
I watched you grow to newer heights and build great teams of your own over the years.
Even though there were months, and years that we had not connected, it was as if it was yesterday whenever we reconnected.
I loved hearing you speak about your kids, and how proud you were of them.
You will be dearly missed.
Love you, Brother.
Mike

He was well liked by all.
He will surely be missed.

No words can describe the emptiness that I feel. Scott was an extremely special friend both professionally and personally. Even after leaving ClubCorp in 2018, we still managed to keep in touch. I will always treasure our conversations and will miss you deeply.

I met Scott while working at Brookhaven Country Club. He was the Director of Golf. Always a smile, making me and others laugh all the time. I got to know him better when he became our General Manager. Soon I felt like he was a good friend. I fell for all his funny jokes. He always made work fun. We always had each others back. He loved bringing the kids to work and we all enjoyed seeing them. Many fun memories of after work happy hours with co workers. Lots of laughs. I'm so sad that he passed away and know he is resting in heaven. Prayers lifted to his family and friends. He will be missed by so many. RIP Scott. I toast my Jack and Coke to you. Love Linda Hughes
