Scott Lambert Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 6, 2025.
Scott Alan Lambert passed away peacefully with family by his side, on February 3, 2025, after a sudden illness. Scott was born on August 16, 1963, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Elizabeth Ronnie Sewell Lambert and Ernest Alan Lambert.

Scott had a lifelong passion for sports, playing football and baseball throughout his youth, and later coaching his children's teams. His passion extended beyond participation and into ardent devotion towards his favorite sports teams, particularly his beloved Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Atlanta sports franchises. He played and watched golf throughout his life, considering The Masters to be his personal super bowl. He grew up on Lake Lanier, and developed a love for skiing, fishing, and boating that continued throughout his life. He was also an accomplished cook who especially enjoyed grilling for family and friends.

Scott graduated from Georgia Tech in 1986 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He worked for much of his career as a sales engineer, and later as a residential home builder.

He shared 35 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Susan Howerin Lambert. Together, they raised three children: Robert Sewell Lambert, Curtis Stell Lambert, and Mary Grace Lambert. Among those who will miss him dearly is his cherished granddaughter, Harper Leigh Elizabeth Manka.

In addition to his parents, children and granddaughter, Scott is survived by his sister Wendi Elizabeth (Steve) Bagwell of Mooresville, North Carolina, as well as many cherished aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

A celebration of Scott's life was held in Georgia on February 8, 2025, organized by close friends and family. A memorial reception in Virginia will be held at the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club on March 22nd at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Scott's memory to Georgia Tech at https://www.givecampus.com/campaigns/46972/donations/new.
