Scott B. Manion 1967 - 2017
WEST WINFIELD - Scott B. Manion, 49, of West Winfield, passed away unexpectedly on January 25, 2017.
He was born on February 10, 1967. He was the son of John and Eleanor Manion. Scott attended local schools and graduated from Utica College as a Medical Technologist with a Bachelor's in Microbiology. He worked at Bassett Hospital, in Cooperstown, NY, as a Clinical Microbiologist, where he also trained medical students, as he loved to share his knowledge of medicine.
Scott was a very hard-working guy. He was an avid runner and skier and loved gardening and working outside. He loved and was very proud of his two children, Kathryn and Connor, and was very happy when he was coaching them in cross country running, skiing, boy scouts and their high school studies. He was especially proud that his daughter was studying to be a Physician's Assistant.
Scott is survived by his loving mother, Eleanor (Ellie), of Clinton, NY; one daughter, Kathryn; his son, Connor; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Tim Manion, of West Winfield, Andy and Valerie Manion, of West Winfield, and Kevin and Patricia Manion, of East Sandwich, MA; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet Huntley, of Utica, Sheri and John Pustay, of West Winfield, and Shannon and Stan Weiselberg, of Cassville; his nephews, Jason, Jeremy, Josh Huntley, Jon and Aaron Manion, Mitch and Andrew Pustay, Sam Weiselberg, and Jason Ramazel; his nieces, Amanda Godbout, Samantha Conklin, Alyssa Plows, Haley Manion, Alex and Niki Kantor, Kathleen Weiselberg, Larissa Pavone, and Eden Johnson.
Scott was predeceased by his father, John Manion; and a nephew, Matthew Kantor.
There will be a Mass and Celebration of Life at St. Joseph's the Worker Church, W. Main St., West Winfield, NY, on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 11 a.m. There are no calling hours.
Arrangements are with Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, West Winfield.
