Scott Allan Moffitt

Scott Allan Moffitt Resident of Chapin, SC Scott Allan Moffitt, 39, of 417 Oxenbridge Way, Chapin, SC died Monday, June 28, 2010. Born on July 1, 1970 in Alameda County, CA he was the son of Barbara Hale of Chapin, S.C. and the late Barry Alvin Moffitt. Scott was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and worked most of his career in the construction field where he served as secretary of the Professional Construction Estimators Association for a number of years. He was a medic with the US Army, 82nd Airborne Ranger Division and served in the Conflict in Panama. Scott was member of the American Legion and the Lexington United Methodist Church. Most importantly, Scott was a beloved friend to many. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Erin Wrenn Edens Moffitt; daughter, Scarlett Addison Moffitt; sons, Glen Wilson and Gordon Alexander Moffitt; sister and brother-in-law, Alissa and Tim Mesnickow of Livermore, CA; brother, Jason Cobb of Castro Valley, CA; grandmother, Helen Abbott of Castro Valley, CA; aunt, Lynnell I. Gafar of Irving, TX; nephew, Dimitri Mesnickow; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Wilson and Wrenn Fairey of Prosperity, S.C.; brother-in-law, Ashley Edens of Lexington, S.C.; and a dear friend, Gregg Hydrick. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Glen and Maebell Moffitt and Roy "Bud" Abbott. Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 PM Friday at Lexington United Methodist Church, Lexington S.C. by the Rev. Miyoung Paik and the Rev. Michael Turner. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Chapin.
