I'm so sorry to hear about Scott. My deepest sympathy to Bob and Nita and the whole family. Scott was indeed a 'larger than life' part of our class, as David says, always ready with a quick-witted remark or joke, along with a big smile. He seemed to be friends with everyone, and that is a gift to us all.

I have not see Scott for many years but have very good memories from high school. I did hear the ads on the radio for his business and I was very proud of his accomplishments. RIP Scott. To his family remember the good times and the great guy that we all knew. Thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Scott was one of the larger than life personalities in my memories of NUHS. He was my study partner in Latin (taught by his Dad), a classmate in many of my math and science classes and we saw each other daily in band. The wrestling and gymnastics practice rooms were side by side at the high school and occasionally a few of us gymnasts would venture into the cave to challenge the residents. I remember wrestling Scott on several occasions ... he was a good wrestler and I wasn't, but he humored me. I saw him occasionally after graduation - at the U of MN, at a few reunions, etc. I remember hearing an ad for his company on the radio during a Twins game several years ago and Dan Gladden referring to "my friend Scott Voves" and thinking "I went to high school with him"! and feeling proud that I knew him and happy that he was successful. He seemed so permanent and indestructable - it's hard to believe that he's gone. To borrow from "Star Wars" - there has been a disturbance in the force. I will keep you in my memories old friend.

I have only good memories of Scott, younger brother of Brad, although, I have seen little of him over the years.
Scott's family are friends of my family and I remember him when he was a lot younger and sometimes battling over something with Brad.
I remember being on the West Bank of the University of Minnesota, sometime in the past, and a smiling guy shouting down to me from an apartment building roof top. I hadn't seen him in a 'long time' and there was Scott with his crew ... what a pleasure to see him, then!
Over the years I'd hear how well Scott was doing with his roofing business ... good going! Scott even re-roofed my bother-in-law and sister's home, sometime in the past.
So it goes, Scott was a "good guy" and now Scott is free and on a new journey as he traverses eternity.
Bless You, Scott!

Scott and I had been good friends since about the seventh grade. We were on the football, wrestling, and track teams together. The only downside was that his dad, Bob, was our coach through most of those years. Just kidding Bob.
Through the years we were able to get together every so often and always had an enjoyable time.
I had the pleasure of working for Scott for about 7 years in his roofing business. This also gave me an opportunity to get to know MaryBeth, Vanessa,& Marti fairly well.
During those years I also had the opportunity to help them build their cabin on Lake Miltona.
I had talked to and helped Scott quite a bit over the last year, was aware of his problems, but was hoping for the best for him.
I miss you greatly my friend!!!

Scotty and I were best friends growing up as neighbors. We were constantly together, although when my parents moved to a different neighborhood, we rarely saw each other anymore. But he will live in my memory as a cool kid to play with from when we were 3 until 11 years old. He was so fearless and was our neighborhood leader. I still laugh at the time he got bit by a gopher at Flandrau Park as we were flushing them out of their holes. He ended up with 14 rabies shots and I felt sorry for him. He was a good sports player, but put up with my wimpy playing because we were pals.
I will cherish my memories of him.

Scott was my long time client at WCCO Radio, but more than that he was also a friend. But as a pastor Scott would call me, we would have wonderful conversations and would often meet. He would share how he felt God was moving in his life and how close he felt to God the past few months. Scott made a commitment to the Lord and he was feeling great about the future. The Lord had other plans and called Scott home. I believe Scott is enjoying the eternal ride of his life! I also believe his passing will bring his family closer to the Lord as well.

Scott was like the extra brother around the house during high school. I still remember him trying to teach me how to cut his hair. I can't remember if I ever finished the job but he let me try.
