Scott Allen Wagner, 48, of Hudson, passed away May 15 in Aurora. Scott was born in January 1968 to Donald and Gail (Andrews) Wagner in Butler, Pa. He attended Freeport Area High School before joining the United States Marine Corps in 1986, where he served during the Persian Gulf War.
After receiving an honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, Scott returned to the Pittsburgh area. He went to work for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. Scott worked as a police officer for the United States Park Police in Washington, D.C., for eight years before moving to Colorado. Scott served six years with the Westminster Police Department after 2 years with Fort Lupton's police department.
Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Gail. He is survived by his wife, Diane; son; Gabriel; his father, Donald; stepmother, Betty; brother, Vance; sister, Kelly (Wagner) Lucas; and brother, Lee.
A memorial service was May 24 at Tri-City Baptist Church in Westminster, followed by a graveside service at Fort Logan National Cemetery, staging area C.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made in Scott's name at the Semper Fi Fund www.semperfifund.org or Concerns Of Police Survivors (COPS) www.nationalcops.org.
Tabor-Rice Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

The WPD has lost one of their best officers. Rest in peace Scott, with the knowledge that your family will be taken care of by the extended law enforcement family. We will never forget the years of service to the City of Westminster and our country that you provided with such class. Peace be with you.
