Mr. Sean Michael Casey

Sean Michael Casey of Abington, PA 4/18/1977 - 2/27/2021 It is with unbearable sorrow that we lay Sean to rest. He was a caring son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend, who succumbed to an infection which damaged his organs and caused cardiac arrest. Sean worked his way through college by waiting tables, and in the process, so impressed the restaurant's owners that they offered him a partnership in their new venture, Vintage Bar and Grill. Along with his beloved brother Patrick, Sean became a valued business partner to Phil, Michel, and Nick Fadel, who loved him dearly. Known for his extraordinary warmth and affection, Sean was the face of Vintage Bar and Grill, where he genuinely welcomed everyone as a treasured guest. Sean was glad that his father, Michael J. Casey, lived to see his sons' success before his death in 2005. Sean was adored by his sisters Bridget and Lara, and he considered his mother Joan (née Dennery) to be the most important person in his life. Sean looked forward to traveling with his girlfriend, Pam Congdon, in healthier times. Sean is also survived by many cousins, aunts, and uncles who appreciated his personality and his hilarious sense of humor, especially his Uncle Tom Dennery, often his partner in crime. Sean also had a special relationship with his Uncle Edmund and his late Aunt Mary Joyce (née Dennery) with whom he enjoyed many summers in Breezy Point, NY. Sean cherished his friends and was known for keeping in touch with the many he had made starting in Jenkintown Elementary School, through Jenkintown Middle/High School, and then Kutztown University—too numerous to mention here. Years ago, he started a weekly wiffle ball game in order to guarantee time with his friends and their families. Sean was a devoted godfather to his best friend Joe Lahiff's daughter and a loving "uncle" to Joe's other children. For those who have inquired, we are going to have an in-person memorial for Sean at a date to be determined. We want to wait until the vast majority of Americans are vaccinated, because we know that Sean would have wanted us to celebrate his life safely. This seems to be the only appropriate solution for our family, and we continue to appreciate your love and support. We do not feel a need to rush this get together, because we know that our Sean will never be forgotten by all those who knew and loved him. Donations may be made in Sean's name to Philabundance.
