Sean Monroe Dover

SEAN M. DOVER SUFFOLK, Va. Sean Monroe Dover, 43, died on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, in his home. A native of Bristol Tennessee, he currently worked at Sentara Urgent Care Center in Suffolk. Mr. Dover retired from the U.S. Navy with 20 years of service. He was a Marine Corps and Navy veteran, serving in the Gulf War, Desert Storm, Desert Shield, and lastly Iraqi Freedom, where he was wounded. He attended Horizon Community Church in Chesapeake, Va., and was a coach with the Suffolk Youth Athletic Association in Suffolk. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Patricia Dover; and a brother, Mark D. Dover. Survivors include his wife, Jill R. Dover; a daughter, Erica R. Dover; a son, Deven Dover; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Linda and Farrell Malone of Suffolk; brother-in-law, Eric Malone and wife Louise of Max Meadows, Va.; a brother, Christopher L. Dover of Bristol Tennessee; and two nephews, Mark and Christopher Dover. A funeral service with military honors was held on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, at 7 p.m. in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, Suffolk, by Pastor Steve Nethery.
