Sean M. Elliott “Big Country” of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on March 4, 2023, at North Kansas City Hospital. He was 51.
Sean was born in New Hartford, New York, on November 21, 1971, to Terry and Margaret “Peggy” (Rooney) Elliott. Sean graduated from Platte County R-III High School.
Sean is survived by his parents Terry and Peggy Elliott; his sister Sarah Elliott and her husband David Ballard of Charlotte, North Carolina; his brother Neal Elliott and wife Sara of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and their two sons Cooper and Patrick; and many loving cousins in the greater Cleveland, Ohio area.
Visitation will be March 18, 2023, at 9:30 am followed by a 10:30 am Mass at St. Therese Catholic Church, 7207 NW Highway 9, Kansas City, Missouri 64152, with a luncheon following the service.
Sean's true passion was cooking for others. After high school Sean worked as a chef for several local restaurants including Marty’s Bar-B-Q and went on to cater various events throughout the US, including the Barrett-Jackson in Phoenix and multiple professional golf tournaments including The Masters in Augusta, Georgia. He worked events at the Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York and spent time near Williston, North Dakota cooking for the oil workers. In addition, he worked to feed responders restoring power in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and other natural disasters.
