Sean Thomas Ufen

Sean Thomas Ufen, 38, of Jacksonville, IL, passed away on September 26, 2023. He was born on September 13, 1985 in Harvey, IL.

Sean was a loving father to Benjamin Kraig and Lincoln Edward. He is also survived by his parents Sandra and Kraig Tripp, and Mark (Margarita) Ufen. His siblings David (Jenn) Ufen, Christina (Colin) Bernard, Derek Tripp, Victoria Tuley, Grant (Kessa) McNaught and step siblings Johanna(Matt) Collings and Niels Sommerfeld. His Grandmothers Sharron Tucker and E. Charlene Tripp and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Sean was preceded in death by his grandparents Thomas and Gay Hoekstra, Clifford Tucker, Lawrence Tripp and great-grandmother Ruth Veld.

Sean attended Dallas Center-Grimes Elementary and Jr. High School in Iowa and Garner High School in North Carolina. He worked at Costco in Champaign, IL and later at Reynolds's in Jacksonville, IL. Outside of work, Sean enjoyed going to concerts, biking and spending time with the multitude of friends he made through his journey of life. Above all his greatest enjoyment was spending time with Ben and Linc.

Sean attended The Crossing in Jacksonville where he worshipped. His faith had become a very important part of his life.

A ceremony to celebrate Sean's life will be held on Thursday October 5th, 2023 with visitation from 5-7, service at 7 and refreshment to follow at Village Christian Church, located at 8965 S. Bell Road, Minooka,IL 60447. For church information please contact 815-467-2265.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for the care of Sean's two young sons. Contributions can be made via Zelle to Kraig Tripp at 630-470-2268 or by check made payable to Kraig Tripp. All donations will be allocated directly to their care.

Sean's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
