Seanna Sanfilippo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 19, 2025.
Seanna Marie Sanfilippo (née Shelledy) 47, passed away on August 25, 2025. Born on November 4, 1977, in Los Angeles, California, Seanna lived a life marked by compassion, determination, and a deep commitment to those around her.

A proud graduate of Sacramento State University, Seanna earned her degree in geography with a concentration in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), graduating summa cum laude. Her academic excellence reflected her bright intellect and unwavering dedication-qualities that carried through every aspect of her life.

Seanna went on to serve the State of California with distinction. In her professional role, she brought not only technical expertise but also a thoughtful and hardworking spirit that left a lasting impression on colleagues and collaborators alike.

At home, Seanna was the heart of her family. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Joseph and their two sons, Anthony (19) and Matthew (17). Her love for them was evident in everything she did-from the furniture she built with her own hands to the countless ways she supported and nurtured their lives. Seanna is also survived by her mother, Karen Shelledy, her father, Les Shelledy, her sister Lori Danner and her brother Wes Shelledy, along with many other loving family members.

Seanna enjoyed and supported both Anthony and Matthew in their multiple sports participation, watching every game and cheering their teams whenever she could. She had a passion for working with tools and took great joy in building furniture and tackling home repairs. Her creativity and skill were matched only by her enthusiasm for each new project. In her younger years, she was an avid water skier, embracing adventure with the same energy she brought to all areas of life.

Those who knew Seanna will remember her loving kindness, quick wit, and eagerness to help wherever she could. She was compassionate and thoughtful-a bright light who touched many people in countless ways. Whether through a warm smile or a helping hand, Seanna made the world better simply by being herself.

In honor of Seanna's generous spirit, those wishing to pay tribute are encouraged to donate to their favorite charity in her name or contribute to the GoFundMe established for her family. Performing Random Acts of Kindness with thoughts of Seanna is also a meaningful way to celebrate her legacy.

May Seanna's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 5, 2025, from 01:00 PM to 05:00 PM at Citrus Heights Community Center 6300 Fountain Square Drive.

When Joe and Seanna first moved in next door to us, Anthony (Ace) was a baby and Mathew was on the way. We were so excited to have children in the neighborhood. It´s been awesome being part of their lives!

My sweet Seanna, we were blessed the day you and Joseph met, and then overjoyed that you would become a member of our family. It was a sweet privilege to be your mother-in-law. Thank you for all the love you brought to me and our family. Your bright light will shine in all of those who love you. I miss you sweetheart and I hold you close within my shattered heart.
