Dorothy Riddle Clontz

Marion-Dorothy Riddle Clontz, age 83, of Lakeland, Fla., originally of Marion, passed away Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010 at The Manor At Carpenters in Lakeland, Fla. Mrs. Clontz was born in Mitchell County on May 14, 1926 and was a daughter of the late Nathan M. Riddle and Elizabeth Davenport Riddle. She was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church and retired from Drexel Heritage as a secretary, following 20 years of service. She was a former member of Marion Garden Club and a volunteer with American Red Cross. Preceding Mrs. Clontz in death was her husband, Clyde William Clontz. Surviving Mrs. Clontz are two sons, C. Monte Clontz of Suwanee, Ga. and David William Clontz of Taylorsville; one daughter, Wanda Jo "Joey" Webb of Daytona Beach, Fla.; four brothers, David E. Riddle and Johnny Riddle of Pleasant Garden, N.C., Sam Riddle of Lewisville and Nathan Riddle Jr. of Wyers Cave, Va.; two sisters, Joyce Poteat of Marion and Lois Huskins of Lewisville; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 2 p.m. in Westmoreland Chapel with Rev. Bill Warren officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 5, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers are acceptable and appreciated.
