Grandpa was a man that had great charisma, he was a consummate host whom went out of his way to make sure that his guests were looked after. He would give you the shirt off his back. Grandpa and Grandmas home was always the gathering place for holidays and numerous Sunday dinners. Sal and Millie as they were known to all. Our Grandpa was a lifelong Yankees fan, having watched the great players of the 20th, and 21st centuries. He would watch baseball on warm summer nights in the back enclosed porch with all of us when we all lived in New York. Grandpa was a World War II veteran. He was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor. When he spoke of his war experiences, he told humorous stories, but carried a lot of tragedy inside. Grandpa was a true Patriot. Grandpa was a hard worker, and made sure his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren knew how important hard work is. Grandpa lived to be 98, and he joins many of our family on the other side. We only hope they are having a joyous reunion. I look forward to seeing you again my Grandfather, and my friend.
