Serena Galeas Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 23, 2025.
Serena Jo-Ann Galeas, born on October 12, 1952 in Marinette, WI, passed away on Sunday August 11, 2024 in the comfort of her home in Midlothian, IL. surrounded by her loved ones. Service will be held on July 4th, 2025 at 12pm at St. Stephen Lutheran Church located at 14700 Kildare Ave, Midlothian, IL 60445.

Serena is the eldest of twelve siblings, loving daughter to John Rozek Sr. and Genevieve Hill as well as a loving daughter to Charles and survived mother Carolyn Murdock. Devoted wife of 50 yrs to her late husband Armando Galeas Sr. Mother to her late son Armando Jr., survived by son Anthony Sr., daughter Sarah and son in law Wilmer, along with with four grandchildren, Anthony Jr., Annette, Ethan and Serena. Survived by her brothers Lawrence, Richard, Michael, John jr., Joseph, Christopher and sisters Patricia and Charlotte.

She is preceded in death by three out of four parents, Genevieve, John sr. and Charles Murdock, as well as her husband Armando Sr., eldest son Armando Jr. and sisters Helen, Kathy and brother Kirby.

Serena was known for her strength, sense of humor and the dedication she had to her family. She had the kind of strength that just radiated from her like heat from a flame. She was a honest, direct, incredibly resilient woman that operated from a warm heart.

Serena was a fearless, strong, unapologetically outspoken wife and mother that loved unconditionally. Her family was her heart, her home, her reason. Everything our mother did was rooted in that love … fierce, unwavering, and endless. She protected with the power of a lioness, yet cared with the softness of a whisper, and always put her family first.

She wasn't just a mother to us. She was our anchor, our fire, our voice of reason. The comfort of her love lingers, wrapping around us like her arms once did … familiar, gentle, and safe. The echo of her voice carrying words of wisdom like music to our ears filled with grace. Forever loved and never forgotten.
