Sergio C. Alvarez-Mena

Eventhough I never got the chance to visit my grandparents often, I loved my grandfather so very much. He always had a real genuine interest how I was doing and how "my soccer" was coming along. He is a great man that shined a light on that all he knew. Now he is in a place where we can only imagine how happy he is.

I had the honor of working with Dr. Alvarez-Mena and co-authoring a text book with him and Dr. Frank. As the lone surviving author, the two of them will forever live in my heart and on book shelves of medical students and physicians. May God give his family the strength to bear this great loss.

My Dear Sergio and Pilar, I just found out of Mr. Alvarez-Mena Senior's death. I imagine how sad you must be to loose such a dear and valuable person in your life. My deepest sympathy to both of you and your children.
