I am 76 years old and have been singing and listening to Brazil 66 since their first album came out. I have luckily seen Sergio at least 2 or 3 times over the years. Sadly, his concert in Scottsdale was cancelled last year because of his health issues and have been worried about him since. I was truly upset when I heard that he passed away. I have and will always carry his music with me for the rest of my life. His music touched my soul and I have loved him for many years. Thank you for your gift to the world. Cheryl

I am a huge fan of world music, happy music that makes me want to move and groove. Sergio Mendes blended many genres to create his sound. I was hoping to see him in concert one day, but that was not meant to be. His music touched my soul and ignited the island girl in me. He played music with love and passion and shared it with the world. I just loved his collaboration with the Black Eyed Peas. Mr. Sergio Mendes, thank you so very much for the sounds of life to me, I could not live without music. Rest well. You lived life to the fullest and shared your gifted with us all. Mas Que Nada! Rest well. You are missed.

Everyday at my store Sergio Mendes music catalogue is looped for 8 hours straight. I used to hear his hit songs as a kid but I rediscovered him about a year ago. My customers are mostly international from East Africa, West Africa, Sudan, Egypt, Morocco, Europe, North and South America. When Sergio's music is playing the vibe at my store surpasses my competitors. My store is known as the place with the vibe. With Sergio Mendes music in the loop my customers actually spend more money. I always start my day with "The Fool on The Hill. I have recounted the brilliance of the genius Sergio.many times to family members. I was totally blown away with the John Lennon/Paul McCartney song written for Sergio. Two weeks ago I discovered the Stevie Wonder wrote a song for Sergio. Every song he touched was a classic hit. I will continue to listen to Sergio's music as I can meditate while its playing. I did tell my older brother that the only thing on my bucket list was to hang out with Sergio Mendes. I accept it but I don't understand why GOD returned Sergio to the heavens before I could meet him. I am sure Sergios' station in Paradise might have a population of two. I pray to Allah to forgive Sergio of all his sins, wash away his sins with water snow and hail and admit him to Paradise free of questions. I pray the has died on the correct faith. And may his family be happy and blessed and strong even with out him around. To Sergio you may be gone but you will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. If I get the chance to take someone into the Paradise, Sergio has a confirmed spot on my guest list.

I´m Truly Devastated! My Dad introduced my brother Kenneth and me to SERGIO MENDES & BRASIL `66 when he bought both "The Great Arrival" (which was a solo album) and "Herb Alpert presents Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66" which had the Smash Hit "Mas Que Nada"!!! I Was Hooked Forever!! THANK YOU for ALL of the Great Music through the years! !!! My deepest sympathy and sincerest condolences are extended to his family, friends, fans, and associates!!
