Please accept my apologies for offering my condolences so late. I remember meeting your father when I worked at Chalks. He was such a fine person and I enjoyed the few conversations we had. My years working with the Atwoods were the best of my life. I will always have a fond memory of him in my heart.

Our deepest sympathy to the Atwood family. My mother-in-law Dolores Choppi Yastrzab worked many years for the Atwood family. They were very important to alot of families. A good company to work for. Our prayers are with you.

To the Atwood family;
Having been an employee of Atwood and later, Anderson
Industries for over 40 yrs, I want to thank Mr. Atwood for
his involvement and leadership in running the company. It
should be noted that Scanlon Plan was installed with his
direction, which greatly benefitted employees and company,
alike. It was a good company to work for.

The Rockford community has once again lost a great member of our community. The Atwood business and family were one of Rockford's prize possesions. The Almond family had the priviledge of serving their transportation needs for over 30 years and we will always be grateful for having had that opportunity. Our thoughts and prayers are extended to all the family in your loss.

Dear Bruce and extended family, Your father and grand father were my hero's when I was a young businessman just staring out in Rockford. Sitting next to your Grandfather during YMCA meetings and he sharing his great break through in the auto industry with a simple rubber door anti-rattle device. Of course the story of your family in Rockford is one personal success, humility, sharing and giving to our cummunity in very meaningful ways.
We will miss you dad as we have missed your grandfather.
No person, known or unknown, leaves without taking a little of us with them.
I did not your father that well, but I did know his spirit and personnal contributions.
My sympathy to all...God Bless his soul...He lived life well.

What an amazing man and life. Reading his obituary reminded me there are fewer and fewer great men of integrity and drive such as this.
God bless your family during this time of great loss.

Years ago a friend and I were going fishing at Four Lakes, out on Trask Bridge Road and we came across 3 people having car trouble. They were in an old black car and we stopped to help. Two old people (to us everyone older that us was old) and their daughter "B" something. She was peeved because someone was supposed to be making sure her car worked and that day it didn't.

They were going to their "farm" and we offered to take them where ever they were going. They piled in our vehicle along with some of their stuff. One item was an oscillitaing fan. Anyway we took off and drove to their farm. They had a nice fishing lake and everything. The older couple made ice tea for us and gave us a note allowing us to fish on their property whenever we'd like.

It turned out to be Mr. and Mrs. Atwood place in the country and they were just as common as the rest of us.

I always think of this whenever I drive out that way and what nice people they all were.

Please accept my sincere condolences on Mr. Atwood's death. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
