Severino Fusco Obituary
AGE: 79 •
Severino "Sal" Fusco, 79, died on Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel, after a valiant but short battle with cancer. Sal was an Army veteran and a retired police offer from the 60th and 123rd precincts who later became the owner of Staten Island Kitchens. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Police and the Knights of Columbus. Sal was also an avid Giants fan.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia (nee Rooney) whom he loved more than life itself and his daughters and their husbands, Freeholder Serena and Dr. Gerald DiMaso, Ann Marie and Thomas Pontone and Janine Fusco Irizarry. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory his precious grandchildren, Jerry, Matthew, Alana, Amanda, Nicholas and Alyssa Jo.
Sal was a wonderful and kind man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Bayshore Hospital Foundation or any cancer foundation of your choice.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014 at Evergreen Memorial Home, 1735 Rt. 35 North, Middletown. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014 at St. Catharine's Church, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel.

Dear Pat and family, our hearts are broken for your loss. We will never forget the wonderful times we had with you and Sal. He was such a wonderful man, I can remember the times when he saw us in Aruba and how he would give me a great bear hug and hold me in the air. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Dear Pat & Family,
It is with deep regret hearing from you without the usual spark of light in your voice. It hurts more not being able to be there with you during this greif stricken time. I can only say that Sal has always been and will continue to be very special to me. I learned much from him and always admired the strong bond and love he had for his family and lovable humor.
