Shane was brilliant, funny, and charismatic. We first met when I was still applying to law schools. He was quiet and slightly aggravated that I was asking so many questions, but he answered them nonetheless. He was hilariously sarcastic when he became my teaching fellow during my first year. After that, we were in a couple of the same classes during COVID, where he barely said a word, but he was always available whenever I had questions. I was so proud of his accomplishments and thankful for him being there for me when he could.
I envied how easily our work seemed to him and was shocked at how humble he was. He was a great mentor and colleague. He made me a better writer. I've read these paragraphs several times in my head, and I hear him complaining about how many commas I use. He will truly be missed.
Rest in peace, Shane.

To your family and loved ones, I send you peace and condolences. Working with back in the day, he was like the little brother, full of energy and laughs and new bigger things were on the horizon. Rest in peace Bro.

My son, Adam, had Shane as his best friend for many years. A match made in heaven. I not only loved Shane but admired and respected him immensely. I was so proud when I found out about his new position. Those issues are so important to me. We have the honor of enjoying Gonzo. A son of Cheech (so missed) I hope they hook up in whatever afterlife they end up. It truly was an honor having him in my life.

If you knew Shane, you probably spent the majority of your time with him smiling and laughing. He was so sharp and witty, funny and intelligent. But most of all, he was a dear friend. I keep finding new pictures of him in my archives and this one goes back, over a decade ago, and it makes me happy that we had those good times. Miss you, Shane

I met Shane at the Charm City Chess Club years ago. He was always a pleasure to talk to while we pushed pieces across the board. He took a break from chess to focus on his career but once he reached his goals, he came back to share the great news! I was filled with excitement to know he had gotten the job he always wanted and was resuming his chess studies. After not seeing him for at least a year, I invited him to play cards and chess at my house. It was a memory I will cherish forever.

As I am sure you all know, Shane was one of the most impactful, funny, caring humans you could ever hope to meet or maybe become friends with if you were lucky enough. I cant even put into words how much Shane meant to me, or how much he improved my life by just allowing me to be in his. The hole left by him will never be filled, and he will be missed all day every day....
I hope you at peace brother, love you.
