Shane Lee Riddle

Shane L. Riddle, 43, went home to be with the Lord on November 11, 2022, at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Hospital. Shane was born on July 28, 1979, in Port Clinton, OH, a son of Jesse L. Riddle and the late Marcia (Barnette) St. Marie. He was medically retired from the United States Marine Corps where he learned the true meaning of "Always Faithful" and would have made a career of it had his health allowed. Shane had many hobbies including bull riding, fishing, and storytelling. He was a lifelong gun enthusiast. Shane had a special connection with horsesâ€"he enjoyed horseback riding and team ropingâ€"often traveling many miles to participate in roping competitions. He was a member of Blackwater Baptist Church. Shane was predeceased by a brother, Jesse "Shawn" Riddle.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 21 years, Jennifer Talbott Riddle; daughter, Paige Riddle (Chase Dunn) of Phoenix, AZ; son, Colton Riddle of Virginia Beach; father, Jesse (Kathy) Riddle of Sandusky, OH; siblings, Nina (Charlie) Garza of Wauwatosa, WI, and Timothy Riddle of Columbus, OH; uncle to Seth, Mason, Karissa, Hayley, Julianne, Nevaeh, and Joe; and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Chesapeake on Friday from 5:30-7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at Blackwater Baptist Church. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
