Shannon Puryear Obituary
37, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014.
She was a member of Bates Memorial Baptist Church, a former member of St. Stephen Church, and employed with the U.S. Postal Service.
Survivors include her children, LaDaija Bryant, Tamar Puryear, and Azaria Puryear; mother, Kathryn Payne Chatman; father, Dwight Chatman, Sr. (Gertrude); siblings, Dwight, Jr. (LaTonya) and Davin Chatman; and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday 10 a.m. - noon at St. Stephen Church, 1018 S. 15th St. with funeral services to follow at noon. Burial will be in Louisville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a memorial fund established for Shannon's children. Donations may be made in the name of Puryear Memorial Fund in care of any Fifth Third Bank.

It is hard to believe still. I spend days thinking about you and how this year we healed our relationship. We shared Mother's day together with Girls Night Out and had an amazing time. I worked with Shannon and she will truly be missed. She was such a sweet person, and her personality was second to none. Shannon's smile was the type that could just change your whole mood in an instant. She never complained about work and was everything you could ask of a good coworker and friend. I had the honor of working with Shannon when she was a 911 dispatcher. She had such a gentle soul and the most beautiful smile and personality a person could have.
