Shannon Reynolds Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 21, 2025.
Shannon Lea "Lea" Reynolds (née Caudle), 78, passed away on February 24, 2025, in Anaheim, California. Born on July 17, 1946, in Long Beach, California, Lea lived a life marked by determination, independence, and a passion for adventure.

Lea earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from Cal Poly Pomona and built a distinguished career in a male-dominated field. She worked as an engineer specializing in auditing for McDonnell Douglas before its acquisition by Boeing. Later, she continued her work as a civilian engineer for the U.S. Navy in Norco until her retirement in 2013.

Beyond her professional achievements, Lea embraced creativity and exploration. She was an active member of the Red Hat Ladies Society and had a deep love for Chow dogs. Her artistic talents shone through her work as an amateur photographer and stained glass artist, and she also enjoyed sketching. Travel was one of her greatest passions-she loved cruising and embarked on many adventures around the world. Even as her health declined unexpectedly, she longed for more journeys, more shared meals, and more time with those she held dear.

Lea is survived by her niece Lara Lee Olson Boswell and grand-niece Keira Elizabeth Boswell. She was predeceased by her parents, Lyska Nadine Caudle and David Richard Caudle; her sister Lyska Sue Olson; her grandmother Stella Kerksieck Coleman; great-uncle Gifford Kerksieck; uncles Luie Caudle and Edward Caudle; aunts Louise Caudle, Monteen Caudle, and Lois Caudle; and cousin Cathleen Caudle Farrell.

Lea's strength, independence, and love of glamour left an indelible mark on those who knew her. Though her journey ended too soon for those who loved her, she leaves behind cherished memories of laughter, adventure, and resilience. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.

A private memorial service will be held, please get in touch with Lara Boswell for further information.
