Shannon was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and received her education in the Omaha Public Schools. On November 21, 2003, she was united in marriage to Mark Steinbach. The couple settled in Denison and then moved to Schleswig in April 2006. They were blessed with the birth of two daughters.
She was employed through the years at Super 8, Tyson, and most recently at Farmland. She was a very loving wife and mother. Her children were her life, and she loved playing with Katie, taking her to the park and playing outside. Special were the times when she was able to visit and talk with Kianna and Torrell on the weekends. Spending time with family and friends brought her great joy. Family was always at the center of Shannon's life and nothing was more enjoyable than a big family reunion or a long family trip. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping, talking on the phone with friends, listening to music, and watching music. She was a huge Nebraska Cornhusker fan, in addition to being a Green Bay Packer fan and a NASCAR fan, always cheering for her favorite driver, Ryan Neuman.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Jack Pomeroy. Survivors include her husband, Mark of Schleswig; two daughters, Kathryn Steinbach of Schleswig, and Kianna Booker of Omaha; one son, Torrell Booker of Omaha; her mother, Crystal Matthews and her husband, Lyle of Omaha; her father, Dave Sutton and his wife, Dixe of Omaha; one sister, Molly Schutte and her husband, Brian of Omaha; one half-sister, Jennifer Sutton of Phoenix, Arizona; three stepsisters, Heather Ekborg of Colorado; Sarah Matthews of Plano, Texas; and Allison Matthews of Austin, Texas; two sisters-in-law, April Steinbach of Council Bluffs; and Jessica Steinbach of Denison; her mother-in-law, Peggy Wendt and her husband, John of Denison; her father-in-law, Gale Steinbach of Pacific Junction, Iowa; four grandmothers, Esther Pomeroy of Omaha; Cleone O'Neil of Omaha; Jean Steinbach of Carroll; and Eula Wimer of Denison; and many relatives and friends.
