Sharolyn Edith Sage "Shari" (1945-2024)

Resident of Grass Valley, formerly of Orinda, California.

Sharolyn Edith Sage, lovingly known as "Shari," passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on December 11, 2024. Born on February 20, 1945, in Oakland, California, Shari was the daughter of Harold "Bud" Sage and Naomi "Wishy" Sage.

Shari was a dynamic woman with a pioneering spirit. After spending much of her life in Orinda, she moved to Grass Valley in the late 1990s. Throughout her life, Shari was a devoted mother, daughter, and friend, and her warmth and generosity touched many. Known for her infectious personality and her heart of gold, she was always ready to lend a hand or share a story with those around her.

Shari's legacy is carried on by her children: Teresea Lynn Gallagher, Christopher Gallagher, daughter-in-law Renee Gallagher, and her beloved grandson, Travis James Gallagher. She is also survived by her devoted sister Linda Otley and cherished brother-in-law Jack Otley, as well as her loyal brother Robert "Bob" Sage and eldest brother William "Bill" Sage.

A proud graduate of Miramonte High School and Armstrong Business College in Berkeley, Shari was an entrepreneurial force. Along with a longtime friend, she co-founded Village Preschool in Orinda, starting the business from her own garage. She later founded Blooming Gals, a venture that showcased her creativity and passion for fashion. Shari also followed in her mother's footsteps, working in real estate with Coldwell Banker Grass Roots Realty until her retirement.

Beyond her business ventures, Shari was an active member of the Grass Valley community. She volunteered her time and talents to the Center for the Arts, where she also performed, bringing joy and creativity to the local arts scene.

A celebration of Shari's life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Pioneer United Methodist Church, 1338 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA. We invite you to join us after the celebration of life for some fellowship.

Shari will be remembered for her boundless love for her family, her entrepreneurial spirit, and her contributions to the community. She leaves behind a lasting impact on all who knew her.
