Sharon Austin (nee Lansella), age 72, passed away on the afternoon of November 10, 2024 due to the progression of Alzheimer's dementia. She was surrounded by loving family and friends.

Born on January 28, 1952, Sharon was a cherished figure in her community and family. Sharon was known for her devotion as a mother, Grammy, sister, aunt, and friend. Her life was marked by the joy she found in playing with her grandchildren and the close bonds she maintained with her family. Throughout her life, Sharon was a beacon of love and care, always putting her family first.

Sharon is survived by her loving sister, Paula Dixon; her son, Kevin Jr. and his wife Brenna; her daughter, Brittany Werner and her husband Corey; her adored grandchildren, Kevin III, Stella, Corey Jr., and Otto; her nephew Dustin Webb and her nieces Krista Lansella and Erica Bentzen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Telfred and Dolly Lansella; her husband, Kevin Sr.; her niece, Samantha Webb; and her brother, Phillip Lansella.

In her leisure time, Sharon enjoyed shopping and relished the summer months, spending time at the beach and by the pool with her family. These moments brought great happiness to her and those around her.

Sharon will be remembered for her warm spirit, her nurturing nature, and her unwavering dedication to her loved ones. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will be forever held in the hearts of those who knew her. Sharon's presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those she loved.

In lieu of a traditional service, Sharon requested that her body be donated to Alzheimer's research in the hope of contributing to a greater understanding and eventual cure for the disease.

May God's promise found in John 6:40, of the hope to see our loved ones again, comfort your heart and give you peace, strength, and hope in the days ahead.

Sharon and I met at St. Rita´s School where we played girls CYO basketball together. We have been friends since age 12. We were close through high school and college years and had many good times coming of age in the mid 60s - 70s. (The stories I could tell!) Sharon was a great, loyal, supportive friend - strong, confident, independent. She was fun-loving, quick to smile and crack a joke. She endured a lot in her life - with strength and dignity. The word "intrepid" comes to mind when I think of her. I will think of Sharon often - with love and affection.
