Sharon F. Borges

ACUSHNET, MA - Sharon F. Borges, 58, of Acushnet, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at Women & Infants Hospital in Providence. She was the wife of the late John W. Floyd.

Sharon was born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Frank and Janet (Wilbur) Borges. Sharon graduated from the former Mount Saint Mary Academy class of 1970. She then went to graduate from the Diman School of Nursing as a registered nurse and then Regis College where she graduated as a nurse practitioner.

Mrs. Borges worked for Geri Care in Massachusetts for several years. Sharon was also a licensed Mental Health Rehabilitation Counselor. She was a nationally known and regarded speaker on the topic of family counseling. Mrs. Borges recently worked for CVS in the minute clinic. She was a member of the National Association of Forensic Counselors.

Survivors are a sister, Janet M. Muir of Deland, FL; a brother, Frank J. Borges of Burrillville, RI; and two nieces.

All services for Mrs. Borges are private at the request of the family.
