Sharon "Kip" Ann Carroll
Sharon "Kip" Carroll, a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on November 17, 2025, surrounded by the family. A woman who wore many hats with grace, humor, and unwavering devotion, Kip's 86 years of life was a testament to love, family, and perseverance.
Born in
Madison, Wisconsin, Kip had a wonderful childhood, adored by her parents, Leone and Wilfred Charboneau and kept on her toes by her younger brother Bill. The Charboneau family moved to a number of cities in Wisconsin and Minnesota as her parents bought and operated movie theaters during the heyday of the big screen. Their final theater, The Grantland in Lancaster, Wisconsin, became a special place for Kip, as it ended up where her lifelong love story with her husband of sixty-six years first began.
Life changed forever the day the Charboneau family moved next door to the Carroll Family and their big family. Among the thirteen Carroll children was the handsome Richard "Dick" Carroll, the boy Kip secretly admired through her binoculars and knew in her heart would one day be her husband. Her intuition was right. Kip and Dick married on December 26, 1959, beginning a remarkable journey side by side.
Together they raised four children, who were her greatest pride and joy: Terry (Tina) Carroll of
The Villages, FL; Mary (Tim) Leahy of
Punta Gorda, FL; Ted (Jamie) Carroll of
Greensboro, NC; and Dennis (Lorie) Carroll of
Brooklyn Park, MN.
Kip was also the proud grandmother of Peter, Elizabeth, Bob, Tyler, Shannon, Jim, Erin, Matthew, Madison, and Hayden, and great-grandmother to Elliott and Axel. Nothing brought her more joy than her grandchildren, to whom she shared her signature loving refrain: "I love you a bushel and a peck, a bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck... a hug around the neck, and a barrel and a heap, a barrel and a heap, and I'm talkin' in my sleep about you... about who? About you." These words will forever echo in the hearts of those she loved most.
In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother, Kip was a dedicated and accomplished Mary Kay consultant and director for many years. Kip built a successful team and her career was marked by numerous awards and achievements. She worked tirelessly, inspired others effortlessly, and was especially proud to have earned the iconic pink Cadillac for many years: a symbol of her drive, determination, and radiant spirit.
Kip is survived by her beloved husband Richard, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; her brother, Bill (Cathy) Charboneau; sisters-in-law Susan Carroll and Rosemary Thompson; brother and sister-in-law Robert and Nancy Carroll.
Kip's warmth, strength, and love will live on forever in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in time.
