Sharon Cleary Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 3, 2025.
Sharon Kay Cleary, 72, passed away on June 1, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born on May 24, 1953, Sharon lived a life defined by compassion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to the well-being of others.

A devoted hospice worker for many years, Sharon brought comfort and dignity to countless individuals during their final days. Her work was more than a profession-it was a calling that reflected her deep empathy and boundless capacity for love. With grace and gentleness, she walked alongside those facing life's most difficult moments, offering solace not only to patients but also to their families.

Sharon's life was enriched by her treasured friendship with her chaplain best friend, Geri. Their bond was rooted in shared faith and mutual support, and it served as a cornerstone of Sharon's spiritual journey. Together, they exemplified the power of friendship grounded in service and understanding.

Known for her open heart and welcoming spirit, Sharon made her home a sanctuary for all. Whether someone needed a warm meal or simply a place to rest their head, she offered it freely-no questions asked. Her generosity knew no bounds; she embraced everyone with kindness and saw the good in every soul who crossed her path.

Even in the face of personal challenges, Sharon remained upbeat and joyful. Her resilience was inspiring-she chose happiness daily and encouraged others to do the same. Her zest for life extended beyond her community; she loved to travel and approached each new destination with wonder and enthusiasm.

Sharon is lovingly remembered by her son Eric Cleary and daughter-in-law Tiffany Cleary; her brother John Johnson; stepson Chad Cleary; and stepdaughter Mischele Cleary. She was preceded in death by her mother Edith Louise Barr and father Ike Johnson.

Her legacy is one of love without limits-a life lived fully through acts of kindness, laughter shared freely, and hearts touched deeply. Sharon taught us that joy is a choice and that compassion can be a guiding light even in the darkest times.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her and continue to inspire acts of love in the world she leaves behind. A Memorial Service will be held on June 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Sunny Lane United Methodist Church 2020 S Sunnylane Rd

Prayers for this sweet family. I only knew Sharon for three days...but I can tell you she was one of those people that you felt like you had known forever. Even through her pain she always had a smile on her face...in the two days that I had got to know her , I will never forget her kindness and selfless spirit.....

I met Sharon when I moved to Whispering Creek. We hit it off almost immediately. We both had dogs and would walk them in the pm. We took them to dog parks and swimming holes. We also took a road trip to CO and I met some of her family. I will miss her and Barnaby.

Sharon I am so happy to have known you. It has been many years, but the enjoyment my parents Jack & Alba had visiting you and Herschel back in day (they convinced me to come on one of those trips and so glad I did). You were so loving to all of us and have many wonderful memories and photos to look back on. RIP Sharon and love you dearly. Barbara Hatcher-Lutterman
