Sharon L. Coleman, born September 11, 1957 is now in the arms of her loving Savior, Jesus Christ. Born and raised in sunny San Diego, California, Sharon developed a love for the ocean that lasted a lifetime. Sharon returned to San Diego often to visit family and friends and most recently to attend her 40-year high school reunion at Helix High School.
Sharon moved to Bakersfield in 1976. Not long after, she married and started a family. In her years as a young mother, Sharon hosted countless dinner parties and was even part of a gourmet dinner club. She was a leader at Bible Study Fellowship and a member of Junior League of Bakersfield.
Once her children grew older, Sharon went back to school and earned a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology. Sharon graduated with honors, earning straight A's. She put in 3,000 hours as a Marriage and Family Therapist intern and became a leader for the Divorce Care program at her church.
During this time, Sharon also built her own successful insurance agency, specializing in health insurance benefits. She worked tirelessly to ensure her clients received the best service possible. Every Christmas she would spend hours making her famous English toffee to give as gifts. It became a tradition that everyone looked forward to. (And no, you cannot have the recipe.) Sharon was also very proud of her work on the Stockdale Christian School golf tournament. During her 15 years on the committee, she raised tens of thousands of dollars for the school's scholarship fund.
Sharon is survived by her daughter Leslie (Kennon) Carroll, son Scott (Carly) Coleman, parents Jeanne and Marion Scott, brother Stephen (Cindy) Scott, nephew Jason and niece Julia, and her grandchildren Coleman, Kate and Karoline Sharon.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 25th, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Riverlakes Community Church in Bakersfield, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sharon's honor may be made to the Stockdale Christian School Scholarship Fund and Riverlakes Community Church Counseling Ministry.

We've just heard about your family's loss. Sharon was a great insurance agent for the firm where I work. Her genuine concern for her clients was evident in how she handled our accounts. I always enjoyed our visits before the work of going over the policies commenced. I will sincerely miss her and am saddened that she has left this sojourner home, but happy she is truly home with our heavenly Father. May your family be blessed with His comfort and peace during these days of grief.

Dear Leslie, Scott and Family,
There are no real words for the emotion involved........Know that you are ALL being bathed in prayer, hour upon hour and that you WILL BE periodically for the rest of your lives, as long as there are those of us "who remember".... Who remember the smile that lit up a room, the sweetness, the kindness, the sparkle, the giggle and laughter that was your mom, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin or friend.
We will ALWAYS REMEMBER the light she added to our lives and to this world and we can't wait to see her again in GLORY.
She has what she NEEDED now..........
All my love and prayers,
Bettina

I have lost my beautiful friend, but heaven has gained an angel with a smile that would light up the sky. Sharon's kindness was beyond measure. I will miss her so much, but she will always be in my heart. May God bless her family and comfort them at this sad time.
My dearest "Gopher", we will meet again one day, and when we do, we will catch up over a cup of coffee! I love you! Rest in peace.

I met Sharon in Junior League-always a smile and a kind word for all. What a loss I am so sorry for her family.

Such a huge loss for her beautiful family, which is a direct reflection of her. Sharon lived a full life with everything she did, and did it with such grace. God takes those who he needs and now her life is complete here and continues on with our Savior Jesus Chris, but at last Sharon is at peace. It just doesn't seem real though. All my love....Sherrie (Bulcao) Seward, class of 1975.

Sharon was one of the most amazing people I've ever met. She had an infectious smile and such a sweet person her clients were number 1 and she always was on top of all of our needs! I probably won't be able to find another medical insurance person as professional as she was. I can't even imagine what her family is going through with the loss of such an awesome person my prayers and thoughts are with you all.
