Sharon Louise McConnell (Pullen)
July 7, 1941 - June 10, 2025
Sharon Louise McConnell, born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on July 7, 1941, passed peacefully in her home in
Auburn, Washington, on June 10, 2025, with her granddaughter by her side. She went home to the Lord she loved dearly and to the family she had missed so deeply.
Sharon had a gift for seeing the beauty in all of God's creations. Art was her greatest passion, and whether through a photograph, a painting, a drawing, or even a flower from her garden, she shared her vision with others. Her art was more than just creativity-it was a reflection of her heart and faith, and those who experienced it felt the love and emotion she poured into each piece.
She touched everyone she met and left a lasting impression. Sharon's deep faith inspired many, and she was a proud member of Creator Lutheran Church in Bonney Lake since the day its doors opened. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the Creator Lutheran community for being a source of strength and love throughout Sharon's life.
Above all, Sharon's greatest joy was her family. She was the big sister who held everyone together, the aunt who loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own, the mother whose love and acceptance never wavered, and, most of all, the nana who gave everything for her grandchildren.
Sharon was an independent and strong woman who believed in equal rights. She was proud to have owned multiple businesses and to have worked in contracting, paving her own way in life. She was also the hardest-working, most forgiving woman, always willing to give the shirt off her back to help someone in need. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her compassion touched countless lives.
Sharon loved animals deeply and believed in living close to nature. She embraced natural living, often finding peace and joy in simple, earthly things. Her love for God's creatures and creation was reflected in the way she cared for both people and animals with tenderness and respect.
Washington became her home when her family moved from Indiana when she was 11. She instantly fell in love with the ocean and mountains, living much of her life in Burien, Renton, Bonney Lake, and Auburn. In her 30s, she also lived in Alaska, where she made lifelong friends and treasured memories.
Sharon loved to travel, especially by cruise ship, exploring the wonders of the world and deepening her understanding of the people she met along the way. She truly made every second count and thanked God for every minute she was given.
She is lovingly remembered by her son Frank (Elise) McConnell, her daughter Laurel McConnell-Repp, her grandchildren Cathryn Keene, Cassidy (Abner) Repp, and Casey (Emily) McConnell-Repp, and her siblings Geno Pullen, Tom (Carrie) Pullen, and Charity Hamilton.
Her life was a beautiful testament to love, faith, family, and generosity, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of Sharon's life will be announced at a later date.
