In memory of
Rita T Wood Wood
March 4, 2020
Sharon was a distinguished leader in family & consumer science field of study. I fondly remember the many years she dedicated herself to IFHE development fund though the cultural events at AAFCS annual conference -IFHE events. Truly an international professional! She will be missed in our FCS/IFHE families. I felt honored she asked me to share her table of guests at her DSA /AAFCS award presentation. She was a special person of grace, kindness, and thoughtfulness. May she rest in the peace of the Lord. Rita T Wood, Atco, NJ

I will always treasure our friendship and wonderful adventures together to different parts of the world. Sharon, who was so kind and compassionate appreciated people's different points of view, especially mine. I was quite fortunate to have Sharon in my life and I will miss her a great deal. The AAFCS annual meetings and IFHE Council and Congress won't be the same without her.

Susan and family - We are so very sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Sharon and I and many other Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana FCS professionals met many times to plan a conference which was held in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in the summer of 2000. The Tri-State 2000 Conference was a great success, and we on the committee became good friends over the two-year planning process. From then on, we enjoyed seeing each other at annual AAFCS conferences. Sharon was a positive, dedicated leader in the FCS profession, and she will be greatly missed.

Sharon was a friend and mentor to many in the profession. I will always remember her dedication to raising funds for professional projects in less developed countries through IFHE. Traveling with her to various countries was a pleasure. She will be missed for her friendship, welcoming manner, and joy of life. She made a difference in my life and to many others in our world.

Sharon was a pillar in the family & consumer sciences profession. No matter what the issue, Sharon's positivity provided a light for many. I always loved participating in events and committees that she managed. Her loss is deeply mourned in the profession, but her legacy will be enduring.
May all those who loved Sharon be comforted by Christ.

Sharon was my college instructor at BGSU and later my OAFCS colleague. She was always positive and friendly and was a driving force for fundraising for IFHE. I am sad that she is no longer with us. I will try to attend her services in Windham.
She and I have been friend since early adulthood and college days. Much of our friendship has been long distance, but it did not keep us from sharing and debating the many issues that we both dealt with in our lives through letters, e-mailand telephone.

What an absolute privilege to sit directly across the table from Sharon at the Faithfulness Circle gatherings once a month at Christ Memorial Church. She was such a quiet encourager and her suggestions of pursuing the topic of Miracles and also of Angels led our group to study both of these through the Scriptures and our enthusiastic discussions. Our eyes met many times during the meetings and unspoken affirmation often encouraged me, along with her words, after the meetings. I am grieved at the thought of our meeting this Thursday without Sharon, yet I know we will all encourage each other around those tables as we celebrate her glorious eternal life. (And now she knows all the answers to the questions we never really came up with answers for about Christ's Miracles and also Angels.)
