Sharon Sheppard

Sheppard, Sharon Lynn Age 59 of Chesterton, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2011 at Rush Hospital, Chicago. She was born on January 30, 1952 to Harold Benfield, who precedes her in death, and Sophia Benfield, who survives in Valparaiso. Also surviving is her husband, Michael D. Sheppard of Chesterton, her children, Kimberly Sheppard of Chesterton and Michael Sheppard of Indianapolis. Also, Sister-in-law Patricia (Robert) Mekoca, brother-in-law William (Malinda) Gavin, very dear and close friends Jim and Sue Richmond of Chesterton, Jim and Nancy Hoffman of Chesterton, Marty and Julie Steiner of Chesterton, Mike and Chris Briggs of Porter, Jim and Peggy Ricard of Crown Point, Sue O'Halek of Porter and Russ and Denise Richmond are also surviving, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Sharon worked at Elwood Staffing in Valparaiso. She loved her house and also working in her garden. She would strive to have the best garden in the neighborhood. She was a very loving, caring, generous, supporting and selfless person who was very dedicated to her family, friends and her work. She was always there for her family and friends, whatever their need. She will be missed by so many. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. at the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd Street, Chesterton, IN. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home with Father James Meade. Burial will follow.
