Sharon Stoa Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 2 to Oct. 8, 2023.
Simi Valley -

Sharon Yvonne Stoa, 78, passed away peacefully at her home on July 30, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. Sharon is survived by her three children; Sonya Foster, Deborah Schooler, and Gregory Stoa. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren; Kristine and Nathaniel Schooler, Elizabeth and Matthew Foster, and Micheal, Audrey, Alexander, and Jerry Stoa.

On December 31, 1969, Sharon married the love of her life, Gordon Stoa, in Van Nuys, California. They spent 46 years with each other before they were separated by the death of Gordon Stoa on August 26, 2016. They had three children together that they raised in Simi Valley, California. Sharon loved being a mother and a wife and dedicated her life to helping those she adored the most. She spent the years of her children's childhood as a stay-at-home mother, working at their schools, and helping her husband with his business. Sharon was also a very active member of her church; Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. She was a part of the choir as she loved to sing and share her love for God. She volunteered her time to help others at her church and she loved doing so. When Sharon wasn't working or helping others, she enjoyed spending her time listening to music. Sharon not only enjoyed spending time with her family but also her friends. In the later years of her life, Sharon loved being a grandmother. Whenever she could, she would be with her grandchildren. Sharon spent all 78 years of her life as a wonderful wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, and grandmother. She will be missed greatly by many.

A memorial service will be held for Sharon Stoa on October 14, 2023, at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. The ceremony will be held at 11:00 in the morning in the Sanctuary. The address for the memorial is 4191 Cochran Street, Simi Valley. Anyone who knew Sharon is more than welcome to attend the memorial. In place of flowers, gifts, or any donations, Sharon's family asks that you express your love to those in your life.
