Sharon Veretto Obituary

Farmington -

Contagious laughter, pithy sayings, and an embrace that could heal any broken spirit. These are the traits that will be deeply missed in Sharon Fay Veretto, [76], of Farmington, New Mexico who now joins Jesus on the streets of gold.

Anyone who had the pleasure of stumbling into Sharon's presence was never the same. Just five minutes with her made people feel a little lighter, a little taller, and a whole lot better. She had this indescribable grace and joy about her that attracted people from every walk of life. Sharon was often described as "the lady of sunshine" warming the souls of people with just a smile.

For anyone who knew Sharon in her older age, there was no doubt she was a woman obsessed with Jesus. But what many don't know is that Sharon was afraid that she was unworthy to be accepted into his Kingdom. She often wrestled with the idea of how a perfect God could love someone as imperfect as herself. It was through a mission trip to Navajo reservation in her early twenties that Sharon's eyes were opened to the deep, reckless grace of God. Nothing and no one would ever be the same once Christ got a full hold of her heart.

It is with this new found life, that Sharon raised a beautiful family. Her late husband, Cliff Veretto spoke about her as if she was an angel herself who hung the moon and stars. Together, they had four children Don, Hank, Chuck, and Adonna. Each child would grow up to have families of their own living on the legacy of love that Sharon instilled in them.

When Sharon was not hanging out with grandkids, she could be found volunteering in the children's ministry at church, hosting late game-nights, and evangelizing to people on the street. There was no person, she believed, that was unworthy of love and it was her life's mission to touch every soul she came across.

If you wish to celebrate her life with her family, services will be held Saturday, the 19th, at 10:00am at the Aztec Cemetery.
