Shaun´s music wasn´t just sound-it was soul. It carried joy, depth, and a spirit that resonated far beyond the notes. His artistry touched me profoundly, and I´m grateful for the light he brought into the world.
Though I didn´t know him personally, I felt his presence through every chord and collaboration. His work was a gift, and his legacy will continue to inspire and uplift. I hope you find comfort in knowing how many lives he enriched, and how deeply he will be missed.

With heartfelt sympathy,
Jesse

Rest in peace, Shaun Martin. You made my soul fly with your music, and I´m sad to see you go. May your memory be eternal.

I found Snarky Puppy through a short video showing Mr. Martin reacting to Cory Henry's solo in Lingus. Down the rabbit hole I went, as many of us did. Shaun's work on Sleeper never fails in getting a stank face from me. More recently, I found his soul recorded in Yellow Jacket. I just found out today that he passed. I picked my son up from school and, after the drive home, we found ourselves sitting in the driveway while Yellow Jacket took us to the beautiful place where I imagined Shaun being pleased that his music touched another pair of hearts.

I'll listen to his music until I, too, am gone.

Met Shaun when he came to The Rex Jazz Bar with Snarky Puppy up here in Toronto, Canada back in 2013 where I work. One of the nicest people I have ever met and a true music legend. My heartfelt condolences to his family and to the Snarky Family. Rest in Peace Brother.

We attend the same church and one day I asked him something about the Grammys, after that we often spoke in passing. Even from the beginning he was just such a humble, nice kind of person, even though he really didn't know me well. My deepest condolences to his family.

My first Ho Go Party was st GUMFest 2017 in Miami, and I have been to The Rex in Toronto - Shaun knew how to throw a party and he made everyone feel like they were the guests of honour at the party.

I also saw him with his family walking through the audience, crowds of fans and he opened up even then to everyone.

Extremely talented, incredibly kind - rest easy sweet Shaun.
