Shawn Garneau Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 5, 2023.
Shawn Michael Garneau 47, of Lincoln passed away peacefully on April 30th. He was the loving husband of Nicole Garneau.

Born in Woonsocket, he grew up in Manville and graduated from Lincoln High School. He was the son of Richard Garneau of Phoenix, Arizona, and the late Elaine (Marcil) Garneau.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Jenna Pascale of North Providence, stepdaughters Emily of Lincoln, and Cassandra of North Providence as well as two beloved grandchildren, Isaiah and Levi.

He is also survived by three brothers, Jamie and his wife Tonya Lemay of Lincoln, Matthew and his wife Israa, of Phoenix, Arizona and Timothy, of Phoenix, Arizona. He was the loving, "fun" uncle to Spencer, Lily, Madison, Morgan, Kaylee and Mischa.

Shawn had a big heart and a gift for storytelling. The recanting of some of his antics and shenanigans would often leave a room in stitches. He enjoyed playing and watching football, spending time with his grandchildren, playing with his puppies, George and Jellybean, as well as cooking. Sundays you would often find him watching and attending NASCAR races with his father-in-law Richard Bonenfant. Anytime just hanging out with friends or family was a "good time".

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, June 10th at a location yet to be determined. Friends and family are invited to attend and share in your favorite memories.

My love. Three months since you have been gone. I miss you more than ever. 20 years wasn't enough. I was glad to be your sole caregiver and glad it was just you and me always. I was happy to take care of you in death just like I did with you in life always .You and I will be together again. Our love extends this world. My baby. I know what we shared every day.

I remember when I first met Nicole. We were working together everyday for the entire summer. She would always talk about Shawn & how much he did for her and the family. She would always say "Tina my husband would love you". I remember the first time Nicole invited me over. I was a single mom and everywhere I went, my son had to come too. Surprisingly, Shawn loved this. He would actually get upset if I found a babysitter for "spartacus". He would always insist that me and Nicole would go out and have girl time & that he would stay behind and "bond with spartacus". I loved shawn for loving my baby. I´ll never forget how Shawn would spend his last dollar on a gallon of milk for my son, or on roses at CVS for Nicole. Shawn would walk to Cumberland farms every morning and get us an ice coffee without even being asked. Whenever Shawn saw my car pull up in the driveway, he would run out the door to go grab us a bottle of wine without being asked. I used to get jealous over all the beautiful jewelry he brought for Nicole. I remember he would always say that shes like a cat cause she loves anything that shines. I loved shawn for loving my best friend.
