Shawn Michael Olmsted

Shawn Michael Olmsted, 37, of Summerville, SC, passed away on August 10, 2024. Born on December 7, 1986, in Stroudsburg, PA, he was a beloved son, brother, husband, and father.

Shawn graduated from Stroudsburg High School and later attended Penn State University, where he furthered his education and pursued his passions. Known for his love of cars, reading, and football. A lifetime Falcons fan! Shawn also liked to play Texas hold 'em, and was an avid on-line gamer, a hobby that brought him much joy and camaraderie.

Described by those who knew him as smart, handsome, sarcastic, and funny, Shawn cherished his role as a father above all. His children, Skye and Adam Olmsted, were the center of his world, and his love for them was evident to all who knew him.

Shawn is survived by his wife Cheril, son Adam, and daughter Skye; his loving parents, Elaine and Fred Olmsted; his brother, Fred (& wife Tara) Olmsted; his sister, Elaine (& husband Floyd) Worley; his nephew, Brandon (& wife Elizabeth) Carpenter; and lots of Aunts, Uncles, and cousins who all loved him with all their hearts. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lillian & Francis Olmsted and Ellen & Ted Nix.

Details of a private celebration of Shawn's life are currently being planned and will be shared with close family and friends. This gathering will honor his memory and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him.
