Manito - Shawn M. Sheets, 32, of Manito, Ill., died at 12:24 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2009, on Illinois Route 29, two miles north of Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport in Sangamon County.
Shawn was born Oct. 22, 1976, to Karen Ann Sheets.
Surviving are his wife, Andrea Cooper of Manito, Ill.; his mother and stepfather, Karen A. (Kenneth) Ball of Howe, Okla.; one son, Cage Dean Cooper of Manito; two daughters, Ashlynn Belle Cooper of Manito and Charissa Sheets of Delavan, Ill.; one half brother, Kyle A. Ball of Howe, Okla.; two stepbrothers, Kenny W. (Marsha) Ball of Apache, Okla., and Kelly J. (Aleah) Ball of South Carolina; one stepsister, Kathy (Corey) West of Indiana; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Shawn was employed as a trimmer for StandardAero in Springfield for 11 years, last working Thursday evening. Shawn's passion was doing mechanic work on anything with a motor.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Burial will be in Sand Prairie Cemetery near Green Valley. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

I worked with Shawn for a short time at Ace Doran in Morton and he was just a great guy. Could fix anything and was an amazing worker. God Bless Him.

shawn was one of the best husbands and daddys ive ever know ..... all he did was work constantly to build a life for his family... they had just bought their first house 3 weeks ago.. His dreams were all coming together.. Shawn didnt drink or smoke he lived to work and he work for his family.... he was always a daddy..... Love you shawn , you touched our lives deeply...

My family will miss Shawn deeply. Our heart goes out to Andrea and Karen. I know the lose of a child. Shawn was a good nephew and was always there to help anyone that needed him. Now my Shawn and Karen's Shawn are both angels in heaven.

I would like to say my prayers go out to everyone. I would like to say you will be deeply missed. I know you were only a step-nephew but I always thought of you as a nephew. I wish I coould be there.
