There are no words to express the loss - no, the complete void - this fine man leaves behind. He always had the slight smile, the helpful spirit, the little joke to tell- always to be found when you needed his expertise, always professional. And did he know his stuff? Absolutely. I am so sorry for your family's loss. I remember Shawn from my summer spent as a co-roommate with Kerry at UVA. He was such a friendly, funny guy and their love for each other was such an inspiration. Prayers for your family.

Very saddened for the loss to entire Wilson family. I graduated from BA in 1992 and truly looked up to Shawn and Marc. Shawn was always such fun and gave me the nickname "gym rat." Sounds like he's left an honorable mark on those he interacted with. May God's peace and comfort be amongst the entire family.

Our prayers are with you, Kerry, Chloe and Claire. Shawn was such a wonderful person and one of the funniest we'd ever met. His sense of humor was one of a kind.

Shawn and I worked together as fellow reps for Many years in and around the downtown Nashville hospitals. I will never forget the first day I met him in the locker room at Baptist, back in 1997 when he was starting out. Of course the first question I asked was, "dude, how tall are you?" He smiled and politely answered me. (even though I'm sure he was so tired of that question.) I remember trying to help him find scrubs to fit him. Of course, no matter what size we tried, the pants were way to short. So he was forced to walk around in the OR for several months in high waters. Then one day he walked in with scrubs that were the proper length. I said, hey...you got new scrubs! He explained that a nurse felt sorry for him and then he showed me how she had sewn leg extensions onto his scrub pants. I never knew who did that for him. But whoever it was..bless you, you made his life so much better in the OR :) Shawn and I became friends in the OR. I was always helping him find a lost instrument tray or vice versa. I remember watching him pull in and "unfold" himself out of that little Mercury Sable every morning. I don't know how he did it. I was as thrilled for him as he was, when he finally stepped up to a full size SUV that he could actually fit in. I can't say much more that hasn't already been said here. Shawn was kind, caring, always had a smile on his face and a nod. He was hardworking and knew his stuff. He will truly be missed! My heart & prayers go out to his family. God Bless!

I was one of Kerry's roommates at UVA and got to witness first hand the budding romance between Shawn and Kerry. What a beautiful love story! I will never forget his incredibly sweet demeanor and understated sense of humor. Even visiting them years later in Nashville, I was again amazed by the attentiveness and love he showed Kerry and his sweet girls. Kerry, may God help you and the girls through this. You are one of the strongest women I have ever met. Prayers are powerful and there are many coming your way daily! Love you!

Kerry, I cannot articulate the sadness that we feel. Brian is going to miss Shawn everyday. I loved hearing about their daily adventures. Mack and Allison fondly remember fishing with Shawn and Brian. When Brian had surgery Shawn sat with me and we laughed out loud!! He was a natural friend and always kind. He was mentor to Brian but more than that he was a friend. May the God of Peace surround you and your girls. Please let us know if we can do anything!!

Friday was a solemn day in the OR at Baptist Hospital! I saw all that knew him struggle with his death and the loss it meant to each one of the people who worked ....and laughed along side him day and day out! We will miss him!

I have enjoyed working with Shawn in surgery for over 10 years now! I have enjoyed our Fantasy Football League and the occasional game of poker after a long day of surgery! Shawn was always smiling and one of the best surgical representatives I've had the pleasure of working with in my 20+ year career! Kerry, Chloe, and Claire- While I have not had the pleasure of meeting you I have heard nothing but good things about you all! We will be keeping you and your family in our prayers over these coming days as well as the coming years! I wish to offer my deepest sympathy! if there's anything at all you need, please do not hesitate to ask!

That day he jumped in the pool fully clothed to save a little boy that had fallen off the steps and couldn't swim. I hope his family finds peace. He was a great guy and well loved!!

Shawn will be missed by all of us at St.Thomas Midtown O.R. He had a ready smile for everyone and was valued for his skills, knowledge and most of all his helpful and generous spirit.
