Dear Fred,
We are so very sorry to read of Shea's passing. Have wondered so many times how Shea was doing. You two were such a joy to meet and golf with in the desert. We only knew Shea for a short period of her life but she was such a fun, loving, and witty person to be around.
Our deepest thoughts are sent to you and your family Fred.
Sincerely,
Ken and Jody Aoki

Fred, Elisha and the NuWay family: We are so very sorry for your loss. It was truly a pleasure to meet and work with Shea - she was clearly a passionate woman, who loved what she did and fought for what she believed in. I hope our show will be a lasting tribute of her memory.

Elisha, Ryan and Fred - I've truly enjoyed my dealings with Shea over the last few years... she was fair when she critiqued and she was generous with her kudos. She was always a pleasure to work with, and I loved it when I'd get a wee glimpse of her great humour! She was a oner... My staff and my thoughts are with you all. Pam and the staff of Autographics

My sister Shea was my Champion.
Just as she was a champion to all the people closest to her heart.
Shea loved deeply...fiercely...and was a passionate woman.
Truly magnificent.
Shea was always bigger than life to me.
Beautiful...fashionable...bold, and very intense.
I always felt part awe, and part terror, because she was a force of nature.
Yet her compassion & love were equally deep and profound.
She was strong and focused and always succeeded in what she wanted because she was willing to do the work, and make the sacrifices.
Lao Tzo said,
"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength,
While loving someone deeply gives you courage."
Shea's courage while battling cancer can only be measured by the strength of her love for her kids and husband.
She was incredibly determined to see that each of them would be ok without her, and her perseverance astounded her doctors, and all of us around her.
Less than 30% of people live more then a year with stage 4 cancer, but Shea fought cancer for 4 years because she had things to do :)
How dare cancer get in her way!
It was swept aside, like so many other obstacles in her life, so she could focus on her family and their needs.
Unlike most people faced with a terminal illness, Shea didn't have a bucket list of things she would like to do for herself, instead she compiled a list of things for her to do for her family before she died.
And she hung on for 4 years to complete this list.
And she did complete it.
She was forever thinking of those she loved, and anticipating what they might need.
That was her nature - to nurture.
Right to the end.
She will forever be an inspiration to me, and I pray she has finally found peace and has relaxed :)

Dear Fred, family, and the Nu-Way Floor Fashions staff,
I was so sad to hear of Shea's passing. Your description of Shea was & is everything I knew and was fortunate to experience in my time of dealing with her on a professional level. She always looked like a million bucks, was gracious & warm, a strong negotiator, and had a wonderful sense of humor. I always looked forward to my business travel to Calgary and Shea always made those trips into the store a pleasure.
May your memories carry you through this most difficult.
Sincerely,
Brett K. Schmidt

My first meeting of Shea goes back 30 years when I first moved to Canada as a naive 20 year old. We were to be sisters in law and she made me feel welcomed to the family right away. Through the years we shared lots of laughs and tears and I learned a lot from Shea; from self confidence to fashion sense (and a lot more in between). She was one of the most generous people I know and I smile to know that she lives on in all of us.
