Sheila Ann Jordan Bennett, 61, of Amherst passed away Monday, May 18, 2015, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of Woodrow Walter Bennett. Born February 17, 1954, in Phoenix, AZ, she was the daughter of the late Etta Louise Jordan.

Sheila was a retired employee of the Central Virginia Training Center and a member of Madison Heights Christian Church.

In addition to her husband, Sheila is survived by two stepsons, Tony Bennett and his wife Ginger of Amherst and Paul Bennett, also of Amherst; two grandchildren, Charity Bennett and Tony Bennett, Jr.; one great granddaughter on the way; other loving family members and friends; and a faithful canine friend, Little Bit.

A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Spring Hill Cemetery with the Rev. D. Jack Hamilton officiating.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at Whitten Monelison Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Amherst County, 318 Shelter Ln., Amherst, VA 24521

Dearest Woodrow and Family, We were so saddened to hear of Sheilas passing. Prayers to you for healing of your hearts.I am glad that Sheila and I kept in touch by mail, but sad that we never made it to see each other to have supper or visit. She will always remain in our hearts. She was a dear friend to us as well as our Pianist at our wedding 29 years ago.With Love and much sympathy, Donna and Billy Hamlett
