I have been thinking about you lately, Sheila. Without you, I would not have the very best friend a girl could ask for. I've known you since I was 17 and we have shared some of biggest moments in Julie's life together - from car accidents to weddings to the births of Tristan and Rachel Bridget. You raised three awesome daughters and I'm so blessed that I got to be a part of Julie's life, and therefore part of your life.

I am so sorry to hear that dearest Sheila has passed away. Please accept my deepest and heartfelt condolences. I hadn't heard from her in awhile, so I was just now checking her Facebook page, as she had a birthday coming up, and then saw this. I am very saddened with this news, and I do wonder what had happened.
I don't know the exact year that I met Sheila, but it was at Strawberry Music Festival in the late 80s or early 90s. I worked at the music store in the camp, was already set up with our camp, and she and her friend drove by and asked if there was any room in our area to set up... and we said yes, come on in! It didn't take too long to just know that she was a keeper! She also made friends with people in the other camps, who were mostly staff and volunteers that set up in our vicinity. We camped together there for many more years, and we also invited her into the music store as a helper, among other camp positions that we all would volunteer for. She was one of us! Sheila also raised the cuisine bar for the kinds of food we would prepare and consume in our camp. Between listening to and playing music, sharing foods and drinks, and chatting, life was very good for us all!
As friends we kept in touch a couple times a year, mostly with birthday greetings, and some other times, just because. Years ago my brother and SIL were considering moving to the San Diego, so I put them in touch with Sheila, and she made for the best and most knowledgeable area guide that anyone could ever ask for, even though my sibs did decide to stay put in Michigan.
This is one photo that I found from Strawberry in the mid 90s, pictured here with our kind friend Paul, before he moved to Austin and then years later to Portland, where I know that Sheila had visited him once or twice over the years. (Sadly, he too has passed away, this past May.)
Again, please accept my deepest sympathy, for all of Sheila's many family and friends. She was loved by many, and she loved you all so very much. Hugs. xoxox - Terri Asher (Tehachapi CA.)

We are so sad to hear that our dear friend has left the world. We met 1989 for the first time and we have met many times sinne then. Sheila even visited us in our country together with our friend Dennis Schnelzer. We will miss her deeply and we now think of her family.

Miss Sheila was my first dental assistant at SCDC. I was a young dentist new to the area and she took me under her wing. More than that, she was my first friend in San Diego. She invited Kimber and me to hear the music in Balboa Park early on. Our friendship lasted until her passing. She was such a loving, caring person, and an amazing dental assistant too. I learned so much from her. Quick witted and full of wisdom, we shared many stories of our adventures in life, places we had been to, favorite food and drinks we loved, and where dentistry had taken us. Cherished memories for sure. Fly high with the Angels sweet Sheila, I miss you dearly

Last year Mom went to Hawaii with her friend Bonnie, to babysit her friend Jessica's chickens! She was always up for a good time!
We miss and love you Mom!

Sheila and I worked together at SCDC. We started out as co-workers and became friends. But then Sheila never met anyone who didn’t become a friend. She was always pleasant, happy, and wonderful to work with. Outside of the office we had numerous enjoyable times. One of the most amusing memories is the night a group of us went to Balboa Park to see a musical. We had a picnic prior to the play, and a glass or two, or maybe more, of wine, and we sang along with the performers. We were having such an enjoyable time, and it did not bother us at all when people around us got up and moved to different seats. We continued to cheerfully sing with the performers. This is just one of the many happy memories I had.
I miss my friend and will remember her beautiful smile and kind heart.

I met Shiela working at SCDC when I was just an 18 yr old kid. The past few weeks, I´ve had dozens of memories pop in my mind. The memory which makes me giggle the most is bringing my new baby (4-6 months) into work for a celebration of some type. Sheila and Dr Kingston grabbed him from me and proceeded to the back of the lab where they passed him back and forth. At one point I was in the hallway and could hear him fuss and he stopped immediately (not at all like him) I rushed in to see Sheila and Dr K looking like the cats who swallowed the canary. My son... smiling from ear to ear, with cake frosting allover his chubby face. Yes... they introduced him to a long and loving relationship with sugar. That´s a scene which I will always be able to see in my minds eye and see it very clearly with a smile. We didn´t see each other often, but when we did we yammered for hours. I just know Sheila is the type we will all "feel" in our presence once in a while, and we do, we will be able to smile when we think of her. I already miss my friend. (And now I´m hoping my grammar is correct because I know she´s checking :)

Not enough room to share all of our special memories. Sheila and I became friends over 50 years ago. Whenever we got together or even talked on the phone, we´d laugh and cry. No matter how long we´d been apart, it was if we´d just been together the day before. I will miss her smiling face, her laughter and our special hugs. Love you forever my dear friend.

This is so shocking. My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.
I met her at Scripps Center for Dental Care and being a patient, she made sure I was comfortable and relaxed. She was so accommodating and friendly that we bonded afterwards. I am so fortunate that I became her friend. She was the sweetest. Thank you, Sheila! I will truly miss you. Have a great journey.
