Sheila is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Romeo Concepcion; sons, Angelo Jerell; loving parents, Sol Aurora Evangelista; and numerous other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held from 5-9pm on Fri Nov 25 at Santa Teresa Catholic Church 794 Calero Ave., San Jose. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Sat Nov 26 at 12pm at Santa Teresa Catholic Church.

It has been several years since I had seen Sheila, but her beautiful eyes and sweet smile still warm my heart. She had a wonderful grace and kindness about her every moment of the day. Life is truly not fair when someone like her has had such a difficult struggle with health. Please know that your friends are praying for her and love her dearly.

Sheila has always demonstrated beauty, grace and selfless service to others. It has always been easy just to be around her and maybe just enjoy her sense of humor. In better times, I would have anticipated her return to the office, so we could see each other every day. The last time I saw Sheila was when she needed some help preparing for her extended family reunion. I was pretty sure that being around family gave her great strength and peace. I hope that Sheila knows that many in her VTA family will keep her in our hearts and appreciate all that she has shared with us.

It is very difficult to accept that Sheila has passed. We feel so helpless.
Sheila was a truly a remarkable woman. I have not known anyone more giving of their time, or more warm and welcoming. Her smile was infectious and immediately brightened the workplace. The ten years that I worked with her at VTA have made me a better person. I have missed our day to day banter very much. One Christmas Sheila gave me a necktie as a gift – I now wear it with pride and great remembrance of a beautiful person.

Raquel and I still can't believe her loss as we were expecting the positive outcome of her battle. Looking at your photos of her, reminded me of the old days, we were young couples trying to start our own families. Born at the opposite end of this generation of the Evangelista Clan, even as a child I've always look up to her as one who represents what is Good & Beautiful.. one which we all should at least try to be.. way even before stories were told to sanction it. Unnecessary as they are, for her looks & personality alone will suffice. Her part as a shining beacon was entirely well played out for coming from the youngest who actually knew her, her light indeed illuminate the other end of the spectrum. Her passing pains me more as an Atheist for I have no imaginary kingdom up in the clouds & find comfort knowing she will continue her reign over there. What would make it bearable is that rather than entertain the supernatural, I opt to celebrate those days she was with us, in all her glory, and reflect upon them. This cliche is so overused but not so with me for I have never spoken such words towards anyone ... not until now. If Angels Exist, Sheila is by far the closest thing to ever being one.
