Sheila's father Archie and my Dad were comrades in the same company in WW II. We lived in Morris Manitoba just down the road from Letellier where they lived, and quite frequently our families would visit each other on Sunday afternoons. I remember Sheila as a bright, mischievous girl, very smart and way ahead of me intellectually and emotionally. It was a great loss to me when they moved back to England after Charlie's death. Continue to excel, Sheila.

Sheila was a great friend while we were in Quebec City. Her passion at work was matched by her deep commitment for a better world. If a friend needed support, she was always there.

I knew Sheila through her friend Margaret, and I always looked forward to her visits. She was so engaged in everything she did, and her enthusiasm was infectious. We are all lucky to have known her.

My condolences to Mark, and to Sheila's friends and family. May memories of Sheila's sparkle and warmth comfort and guide you.

I will never forget sitting under Janet Torge's porch in the rain laughing and chatting with Sheila a few years ago. When I ran for the NDP she had some good suggestions and a nice perspective on the whole excercise. She was a great Montrealer and a wonderful person. WE are all poorer for her departure.

Sheila had an opinion on most things and said it like it was. She was insightful and direct and witty. I will forever be grateful for Sheila's professional guidance and friendship and keep fond memories of our chats together.

May her memory be a blessing to her husband, family, friends and former colleagues.

I was so saddened to read of Sheila's death – I have not been in touch since my last day of work at the at the MUHC in early 2005, but remember the very kind and thoughtful words Sheila shared with me over the years. I always imagined Sheila having a long and joyous retirement, living life to the brim. I offer my sincere condolences to Sheila's husband Mark Goldman, the many family members and friends. Rest easy Sheila.
