Sheila McCarty Tapscott

Sheila McCarty Tapscott, 86, of Bluemont VA, died Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Blue Ridge Hospice West Cork Street Winchester, VA 22601 surrounded by her family.

Sheila was born August 22, 1937, in Bluemont VA, the daughter of the late Thomas McCarty and Mattie McCarty.

She is a member of The Good Shepard Episcopal Church, Bluemont Virginia. Sheila was very involved in her church. She sang in the Choir and helped with services. Helped with Fund raisers for the church. She was very dedicated to the church, and she loved God with all her heart.

She worked at Double Day until she retired. Sheila on a softball league along with working and raising her 4 children. She is a wonderful mother and will be greatly missed.

She married Roger Tapscott. On October 3, 1959, in Bluemont VA. Mr. Tapscott died May 11, 2021.

She is survived by her children, Roger Wayne Sr. of Bluemont VA., Karen Tapscott of Bluemont VA, Sharon Tapscott of Bluemont VA and Kevin (Amy) Tapscott of Berryville, VA.; a Sister Lois Tapscott of Bluemont VA and Jeanette of Upperville, VA. grandchildren, Wayne Tapscott (Amanda) of White Post VA, Jessica Tapscott of Winchester VA, Lauren Forrester of Winchester VA, Keith Tapscott of Bluemont VA, great-grandchildren Savannah Rose Tapscott of White post, VA, Trey Taylor of Berryville VA. Jordan Williams of West Virginia, Kaiya Williams of Winchester VA Roger Tapscott,, Matthew Tapscott of white post and Michael (Legend) Tapscott West VA; and 6 great great-grandchildren. Easton Taylor of Berryville, VA, Wilie Tapscott of West VA, Irish Williams, Ryder Tapscott of Bluemont, VA and Leah Tapscott of Florida and Jared Tapscott of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers, and 1 sister
