Sheila Whipple Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 21, 2025.
Sheila Ann Whipple, 69, passed away on February 16, 2025, in Greenfield, New York, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 11, 1955, in Ballston Spa, New York, Sheila lived a life filled with warmth, generosity, and an unwavering love for those around her.

Sheila's heart was as open as her home. She welcomed everyone with kindness and sincerity, always ready to lend a hand. Known for her honesty and authenticity, she never hid who she was-what you saw was what you got. Her presence brought comfort and joy to those around her, and she cherished every opportunity to bring people together.

Sheila found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved camping under the stars, searching for treasures at garage sales, and swimming at "the third." Shopping was another favorite pastime, but nothing compared to the happiness she felt when surrounded by loved ones. She especially enjoyed hosting picnics where family and friends could gather to share laughter and memories. Christmas held a special place in her heart-it was her favorite holiday, a time when she could celebrate with those she loved most.

Sheila is survived by her children: Angel (Jody), Corinne (Corky), John (Joni Lee), Patty (Terry), and Timmie (Heather). She also leaves behind her beloved sister Gale and brother Denny. Her love extended to her grandchildren: Chantelle, Kirklind, Mary, Ellie, Taylor, Cydney, Ethan, Dawn, Daicey, and Daniel. Additionally, she was blessed with seven great-grandchildren who affectionately called her GG/Nana. Sheila's love reached even further to include her cherished nieces and nephews: Ashlee, Brandon, Bill, Casey, Jamie, Gary, Aimee, and Georgie.

She was predeceased by her mother Luella, brother Georgie, and nephew Damon.

A prayer service will be held on February 26, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Saratoga Springs (149 Lake Ave). A celebration of life will follow on March 1, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at VFW Post 358 in Ballston Spa (68 Easy North Street).

Sheila's legacy of love and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she touched throughout her life.

Mom,
Loving you was easy but losing you was the hardest part of all this . I know you fought so hard each day. I get some relief in knowing you are no longer suffering . But I miss my best friend so very much. If heaven had visiting hours I would visit every day. Love you mom I hope heaven is treating you well.
