Shelby and I met at Dell, Dell Financial Services to be specific, 20 years ago. World of Warcraft and a work environment filled with adversity brought us together. He was my best friend for many years. We spent hours and hours playing games, talking late into the night, making jokes, having fun. He was my best man at my wedding in 2018. I was shattered when I heard the news. Way too young, buddy. Waaayy too young. Up, up, and away, my friend. You will be greatly missed.

I was extremely glad that I was able to attend the funeral service and meet all of his family in person.
I started working with Shelby at Dell and we became good friends through both work and gaming together. His sense of humor was one of a kind and I will miss the constant Dad jokes that he loved to randomly send. He was always glad to share his hobbies with everyone that would listen and was always willing to learn new things to make connections. He spend hours telling me all about his new resin hobby and how happy he was that he could use it to pour pen blanks to get a little closer to the rest of the family that was turning pens. I still have some pens that he sent me that will be cherished.
Shelby had a creative streak a mile wide. I spent time with him painting miniatures and when he moved on from that he got into Resin pouring and even creative writing for his D&D campaigns. I still have a whole document that he spend hours writing up designing his own custom world for a D&D campaign and all of the ideas that he bounced off of me. He loved spending hours going into his creative writing mode and calling to talk about the many ideas he had to get out onto paper.
That is just one small part of what Shelby has added to this world and I could go on for hours with the many varying people that he has impacted. He is already sorely missed and has made a huge impact on the world.

Thank you for sharing his services today on zoom. Thank you also Jeanne for accepting my friend request on Facebook and talking to me these past days. The stories about his life, the BB gun, the vodka, and many more told by his family were so great to hear. Shelby was a very smart and talented individual as many stated today during the service. This sentiment has also been shared in this obituary and Facebook and by his peers at Dell. I have spent the past weeks talking to his old managers and colleagues in hopes I can find photos of him from our team events and other group activities. I am still looking and will share with Jeanne in the event I am able to locate any. I just want to say that in addition to everything said about Shelby this afternoon, there was something else about him we found extraordinary. His sense of presence and empathy. Shelby was a very empathetic person. He had the patience to talk to all those around him with such grace and put you at ease when he spoke to you. In a way you could just feel this aura about him that exuded kindness and peacefulness. I wish I could share all the messages and discussions many of us have had about him recently. I'd like to say when I worked closely with him and had a stressful day, I would go by his desk to see what he was doing. Once I started talking to him about World of Warcraft or any other nerdy discussion the stress was gone. Shelby meant alot to his colleagues and I will never forget him! My deepest condolences to your family, his close friends, and all who mourn him today. May his passing at least bring strength and bonding today, as his family and friends have come together to remember him and celebrate his life. I am so privileged to have known him!

I worked with Shelby at Dell on the small business server team. In those days, if you left your PC unlocked, someone would set a picture of David Hasselhof as your background. Shelby was a master at it! He would take one of your favorite photos and plug in Hasselhof's face on it! He got me several times. He was so artistic! Not only that, but he could make a work shift fly by with his joking and commentary. I have attached another piece of his artwork - this is how good he was at computer graphics and design. We teamed up again in 2014 at the VA, and we had a great time until COVID. I will miss Shelby and never forget him! My condolences to his family.

I will miss Shelby. We played Heroes, the tabletop role-playing game, painted 40K miniatures, and hung out. I met Shelby while working for Dell. I remember his certification about Unicorns and Rainbows. I will miss his humor.

I had the honor of meeting Shelby when he was assigned to my team while at Dell.
It was not only a pleasure to have him report to me, he was an excellent, hard working employee who ALWAYS did what was right for the customer as well as the company.
He made great friends quickly on the team and earned everyone's respect.
Being a manager can be difficult at times, but if I could have team of only Shelbys I would consider myself truly blessed. He made everyone he met feel better just by knowing him.
I cannot begin to know the depth of loss for his family and want to express my sincere condolences.
I will have him and his family in my prayers.

I met Shelby when I moved to San Antonio. He was very extroverted and reached out to me. We became instant friends and spent a lot of time together. We would go out to lunch, have LAN parties, play volleyball, and watch movies. Later after I moved to Austin, he moved in with my wife and I while going thru training at Dell. We worked together there for a while as well. He is a great friend and will truely be missed.

I met Shelby after moving to San Antonio and we almost instantly great friends. Being shy and new to the area he took me around and made sure I had fun and came out of my shell. He introduced me to LAN parties, talked me into so many fun adventures that I would have never done without him. He was such a great friend and I would not be the person I am today without the love support and encouragement He showed me. Condolences to all who knew him... and he knew so many people I remember laughing as it seemed like every time we went anywhere we would bump into some friend he knew. I am thankful for the memories and the example he was in my life.

Oh.... man.... wow... I am shocked. I always enjoyed his intellectual snark with humor and the small laugh he gave with it. Prayers for all his family and loved ones. May God's guiding hands provide grace and comfort on their path through grieving then rejoicing that he is home with the Lord.

Shelby would always hit me up out of the blue with some wacky saying. Then after that we would talk about basketball for most of the conversation. He was always a fun guy to talk to when the day was going kind of slow. Never a dull moment when we had an opportunity to talk. Although we had not talked a lot, he seemed to always hit me up just to say what's up. Thanks for the talks and helping me through my slow days, Shelby! You will be missed, buddy!

We joined work at about the same time, but quickly were drawn to each other through our complimenting senses of humor. We would enjoy sharing thoughts and views on life and our faith and values. We spent a lot of time together when I lived close to him, enjoying gaming, TV classics and just generally talking about the human condition. We focused a lot on his Mormon faith and my Christian faith and never argued, but had conversations that helped us understand both sides. Shelby is a lovable person and is sorely missed and I am sad that I am missing the randomness of his humor and desire for bringing a smile to my face and the fact that he is a friend I can always count on. His gift of art, creativity and taking this from dream to reality is unprecedented. I am deeply honored to have one of his pen creations in my collection of pens. This is a highly valued part of my collection. I miss you Shelby...more than words can say. My dear friend and brother.
