Sheldon Lavin, a great family man and respected businessman, passed away May 26, 2023 at his home in Highland Park. He was the cherished husband of the late Sylvia Lavin; loving father of Debbi (Ira) Rosenberg, Steven (Dawn) Lavin and Jerold (Holly) Lavin; proud grandfather of Amy (late Brad) Chaimson, Shauna (Daniel) Freedman, Michael, Alexander, Austin, Ethan, Spencer and Sophia Lavin, and great grandfather of Leo, Evan and Simon Chaimson and Elana and Sarina Freedman; caring brother of Berenice (late Paul) Pink; loving brother-in-law of Marilyn Rakowsky. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at North Suburban Synagogue Beth El, 1175 Sheridan Road, Highland Park, IL. Interment Westlawn Cemetery, 7801 West Montrose Avenue, Norridge, Illinois. Memorial contributions would be appreciated by the family, and can be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities (www.rmhc.org) or North Suburban Synagogue Beth El in Highland Park, Illinois.
